Job description

Job Title: Coordinator Scheduling

Location: Newark Beth Israel Medical Ctr

Pay Range: $17.00-$26.00

The above reflects the anticipated hourly wage range for this position if hired to work in New Jersey.

The compensation offered to the candidate selected for the position will depend on several factors, including the candidate's educational background, skills and professional experience.

Utilizes hospital system to schedule patients for all Cardiac Non-Invasive procedures, verifying that all patient demographic information is current and accurate. Manages front office schedule, according to staffing and resources. Coordinates patient through put and ensures daily schedule is followed. Assists with organization of patient charts and in the duplication and distribution of test results. Maintains the physical environment of the area and performs other office duties as assigned.

As Coordinator Scheduling, a typical day might include the following:

  • Answering phone calls and e-mails, greeting patients, visitors
  • Verifying insurance and pre-authorizations have been obtained
  • Scheduling appointments for patient consultations, procedures and visits with medical personnel and reminding upcoming appointments
  • Demonstrating the ability to verify patient’s insurance benefits and obtaining insurance referrals
  • Demonstrating excellent service in communication with patients, visitors, physicians, and staff
  • Maintaining organization of department patient charts and minimizing duplications
  • Demonstrating excellent customer service in communication with patients, visitors, physicians and staff
  • Supporting the daily operations of the department by maintaining supplies and ensuring an organized work environment

To be considered for this opportunity, you must have a High School diploma and equivalent. Preferably with one (1) year in medical office setting in health care and medical terminology. Familiar with CPT, ICD10, H & P and labs procedures. Knowledgeable with Microsoft Office and proficient computer skills. Familiarity with office equipment such as copiers and fax machines. Must demonstrate willingness to learn. This is full-time position from Monday- Friday, 8:00am-4:00pm with possibility of covering the 7:00am-3:00pm in the event of call out or PTO.
