Job description

Overview

Abacus Technology is seeking a Sr. Systems Integration Engineer to provide technical support at Robins AFB.ย  This is a full-time position.

Responsibilities
  • Perform systems engineering to include expertise in systems design and integration; manufacturing, quality and industrial engineering; airworthiness; and configuration, and data management.ย 
  • Assist in developing, deploying, and maintaining processes to assure weapon systems are fully integrated, manufactured, sustained, configuration managed and operationally safe, suitable and effective throughout their life cycle.ย 
  • Understand and execute AFPD 62-6,ย USAF Airworthiness, through standardized processes, and issuance of flight authorizations.ย 
  • Apply OSS&E and airworthiness processes, as well as assist in providing risk assessments, safety analysis and recommendations, and addressing high priority safety issues.ย 
  • Review and assist in performing assessments on program specific databases, analyzing BIT failure reports, and comparing failure reports against the BIT interpreter analyzer for accuracy of BIT indications.ย 
  • Provide system integration guidance to aircraft program offices for the program system installation and system maintenance.ย 
  • Review and analyze technical proposals or modifications for design feasibility and system capability.ย 
  • Assist in conducting performance effectiveness, cost effectiveness, cost performance, life-cycle cost, producibility, maintainability, supportability, reliability, technical and schedule risk assessments, and scheduling trade-off studies.ย 
  • Conduct systems analyses to including but not limited to system design/design feasibility and state-of-the-art assessments.ย 
  • Provide system integration guidance to the Government for the program system installation and system maintenance.ย 
  • Provide technical expertise and proper application of systems engineering processes to support technology and systems development.ย 
  • Assist in the development and review of the overall system design baseline (architecture and interoperability requirements).
Qualifications

15+ years experience in systems engineering including at least 5 years supporting DoD programs.ย  Bachelor's degree in a related field.ย  Able to apply an understanding of DoD, AF, and common engineering/scientific principles, processes, and procedures to improve performance and sustainability of existing and future AF and joint service weapon systems.ย  Knowledge of systems engineering in support of system definition, development, integration, verification methods, sustainment, risk modeling/simulation, testing and evaluation, human system integration (HSI), crew stations engineering, OSS&E efforts, interoperability requirements, and airworthiness certification across a wide range of hardware and software systems, including ground-based systems.ย  Able to access/maintain government electronic technical systems including but not limited to Integrated Electronic Technical Management System (IETMS) and Joint Computer-Aided Acquisition and Logistics Support (JCALS) system preferred.ย  Thorough understanding of application software, operating systems, networks, storage platforms, and how they relate to system architecture.ย  Experience working on each stage of the system development life cycle from initiation through deployment/sustainment.ย  Demonstrated proficiency with process modeling and developing workflow diagrams.ย  Able to elicit and interpret requirements and translate to technical specifications/system design following best practices and design patterns.ย  Capable of performing: problem/gap definition, trade space analysis, science and technology roadmap analysis, "Set based design" for concept development, Multi-Objective Decision Analysis (MODA) and cost versus capability trade off analysis.ย  Able to communicate with management, technical staff, and end users in a clear and professional manner.ย  Experience with engineering practices, techniques, and standards.ย  Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to develop and present technical presentations.ย  Able to represent complex data in diagrams or through other techniques that communicate precise information to both business and technical staff.ย  Proven ability to understand the strategic and tactical approach to projects and handle multiple projects concurrently.ย  Must be a US citizen and hold a current Secret clearance.
