Lead the Future of HVAC Service Performance

Position Overview

The HVAC Service Director is responsible for the overall leadership, performance, and profitability of the HVAC Service Department. This role oversees service managers, technicians, and sales performance while ensuring exceptional customer experiences and operational efficiency.

You will work closely with executive leadership to establish goals, drive key initiatives, and develop a world-class service organization.

Key ResponsibilitiesLeadership & Team Development
  • Lead, mentor, and develop HVAC service managers, field supervisors, and technicians
  • Build a culture of accountability, professionalism, and continuous improvement
  • Recruit, train, and retain top-performing HVAC talent
  • Conduct regular coaching sessions, ride-alongs, and performance reviews
Revenue & Profitability
  • Drive department revenue growth, profitability, and overall business performance
  • Improve close rates, average tickets, membership sales, and service conversion metrics
  • Monitor departmental KPIs and implement strategies to achieve or exceed targets
  • Identify growth opportunities and execute initiatives that increase market share
Operational Excellence
  • Ensure consistent execution of service processes and customer experience standards
  • Partner with dispatch, customer service, and operations teams to maximize efficiency
  • Analyze reporting and performance data to identify trends and opportunities
  • Maintain high standards for safety, compliance, and quality workmanship
Customer Experience
  • Champion a customer-first culture throughout the organization
  • Resolve escalated customer concerns when necessary
  • Ensure technicians provide ethical recommendations and outstanding service
QualificationsRequired
  • 5+ years of leadership experience within HVAC, plumbing, electrical, or home service industries
  • Proven history of leading teams and delivering revenue growth
  • Strong understanding of service operations and performance management
  • Experience managing KPIs, budgets, forecasting, and departmental performance
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and coaching abilities
Preferred
  • HVAC service management or director-level experience
  • ServiceTitan experience (preferred)
  • Knowledge of residential HVAC systems and service operations
  • Experience leading teams of 15+ field employees
