Aramark Canada is seeking a dynamic and results-driven Food Service Director to lead Food Services, Housekeeping, and Laundry operations within a Long-Term Care environment. As the Food Service Director, you will provide strategic and operational leadership for a multidisciplinary team of approximately 35 employees while fostering strong partnerships with our client and healthcare stakeholders. You will play a critical role in ensuring high standards of resident satisfaction, quality assurance, financial performance, infection prevention, and employee engagement.

Job Responsibilities

Leadership & Team Development
•    Recruit, mentor, coach, and develop leaders and frontline staff across Food Services, Housekeeping, and Laundry operations.
•    Create a culture of accountability, collaboration, recognition, and continuous improvement.
•    Support succession planning and employee development initiatives.
•    Foster an engaged workforce focused on service excellence and resident satisfaction.

Operations Management
•    Oversee daily Food Services, Housekeeping, and Laundry operations within a healthcare setting.
•    Ensure all departments consistently meet operational, financial, quality, and safety objectives.
•    Monitor key performance indicators and implement action plans to drive improvements.
•    Lead departmental audits, inspections, and quality assurance programs.
•    Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to support resident care and service excellence.

Resident & Client Experience
•    Champion a resident-centered approach to hospitality services.
•    Build and maintain strong working relationships with residents, families, client representatives, and healthcare partners.
•    Ensure services reflect the needs, preferences, and expectations of residents and stakeholders.
•    Address concerns promptly and implement sustainable solutions.

Regulatory Compliance & Safety
•    Maintain compliance with provincial healthcare regulations, infection prevention and control standards, workplace health and safety requirements, and Aramark policies.
•    Ensure readiness for regulatory inspections, accreditation reviews, and client audits.
•    Promote safe work practices and a culture of safety throughout all departments.

Financial Management
•    Develop and manage operating budgets, labour plans, and financial forecasts.
•    Analyze financial results and implement cost-control strategies while maintaining service quality.
•    Identify efficiencies and opportunities for operational improvement.
•    Participate in capital planning and equipment replacement initiatives.

Qualifications

Required

•    Minimum 3-5 years of progressive leadership experience within a healthcare environment, preferably Long-Term Care, Seniors Living, Hospital, or Continuing Care.
•    Proven experience managing Food Services, Housekeeping, and Laundry operations.
•    Demonstrated success leading large teams and achieving operational, financial, and quality goals.
•    Strong understanding of healthcare regulations, infection prevention and control practices, Occupational Health & Safety requirements, and quality assurance processes.
•    Experience managing budgets, labour planning, and financial performance metrics.
•    Exceptional leadership, communication, and relationship-building skills.

Preferred


•    Degree or Diploma in Food Service Management, Hospitality Management, Healthcare Administration, Nutrition Management, Facilities Management, or Business Administration.
•    CSNM, RD, CHM, CHE, or other healthcare-related professional designation considered an asset.
•    Experience working within a contract services environment is an asset.
