Blue & Co., LLC is a leading regional CPA and advisory firm with over 600 professionals across 17 offices in Indiana, Kentucky, Ohio, Michigan, Tennessee, and Texas. We're executing an ambitious Vision Plan to grow Blue & Co through geographic expansion, strategic acquisitions, and new service development.

We are currently seeking a Senior Market Development Manager to join our firm. The Sr. Market Development Manager is a producer first, externally focused role centered on new client acquisition, referral network expansion, and market share growth across Cincinnati, Columbus, and Lexington. Cincinnati will be the anchor market. The purpose of the position is to accelerate net new commercial revenue while supporting Director growth expectations. Each of the three markets is unique and will require different strategies and relationships to be successful. The Sr Market Development Manager will work closely with each market’s Directors and Managers to craft the appropriate market plan.

The role will partner with Blue & Co. Directors, Managers, industry niche leaders, and the marketing/BD team to coordinate targeting, campaigns, and pursuits. Coaching is included as a supporting function to improve execution around live pursuits and pipeline management.

Position Details:

Lead Generation & Market Development (80%)

• Own and drive the new business pipeline in Cincinnati, OH, Columbus, OH, and Lexington, KY across manufacturing, construction/real estate, and not-for-profit industries.

• Align with local leadership on target accounts and pursuit strategies; engage relevant associations and chambers.

• Identify, qualify, and convert leads through proactive outreach, networking, referral cultivation, and industry engagement.

• Build deep referral relationships (bankers, attorneys, bonding companies, PE contacts, industry associations).

• Co develop targeted go to market campaigns with marketing and niche leaders; represent Blue at key industry events.

• Identify and pursue cross sell opportunities for Blue Pioneer Consulting.

BD Coaching Support (20%)

• “Growth Plan” Coaching to ensure accountability, action, and measuring results (Primarily Lexington)

• Provide targeted, one on one coaching to Directors and Managers tied to active pursuits (relationship mapping, discovery, proposals, and closing).

• Support HubSpot discipline on pipeline tracking and dashboard use.

• Partner on win/loss reviews and continuous improvement of pursuit processes.

Position Requirements:

Required

• Bachelor’s degree in business, construction management, engineering, accounting, finance, or related.

• 10+ years of business development, sales, or client management experience in manufacturing, construction/RE, or B2B professional services.

• Proven producer with a track record of winning new business and growing client relationships.

• Established director level network (bankers, attorneys, bonding agents, PE) relationships in one or more of the target markets.

• Strong command of manufacturing and/or construction/RE (financing, bonding, supply chain, automation, operational dynamics).

• Familiarity with the Cincinnati, Columbus, and/or Lexington business communities and referral ecosystems.

• Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship building skills.

• Regional travel 30–40%

• HubSpot (or similar CRM) proficiency.

Preferred

• MBA or relevant advanced degree.

• Experience coaching or mentoring BD or sales skills.

• Working knowledge of the not for profit sector.

• Familiarity with IT consulting services and ability to identify cross sell opportunities.

• Active involvement in AGC, ABC, regional manufacturing alliances, and/or chambers of commerce
