Job description

With the largest fleet of specialty trailers in the world, the company is uniquely positioned to meet the growing demand for low and zero-emission fuel distribution.

Summary:

Our Compression Technician will contribute to the preventive and corrective maintenance, application, start-up, commissioning of Certarusโ€™ CNG compression assets. The Compression Technician will be a subject matter professional of practical and theoretical aspects of gas compression; mechanical, instrumentation, automation, and operation, while supporting safe operation and best practices of the CNG equipment. This position reports directly to the Lead Compression Technician.
Schedule:

  • Daily regional travel between Certarus compression hubs. A potential to travel outside of the assigned region is possible
  • Day and Night shift, night premium provided
  • 14 days on/7 days off

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • The safe and consistent maintenance to the companyโ€™s permanent and portable CNG compression equipment
  • Establishes changes in dimensional requirements of parts by inspecting used parts, using rules, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments
  • Troubleshoot repetitive and intermittent performance issues on component level equipment
  • Broad electrical, PLC, and instrumentation troubleshooting when necessary
  • Commissioning new & end service inspections of compression assets
  • Contribute to maintaining an effective spares parts and materials inventory
  • Prepares mechanical maintenance reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends and enter reports into CMMS
  • Maintain CMMS (Computer Management Maintenance System) on a continuous basis
  • Participate and support in maintenance program development
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed
  • Maintain a high level of equipment housekeeping
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • The best suited candidate will have a minimum of 3-5 years field service gas compressor experience
  • Natural Gas Compression and additional OEM and industry training beneficial in lieu of experience
  • Waukesha VGF, and Ariel systems would be an advantage
  • Excellent organizational and technical communication skills, interpersonal skills, and an ability to influence and to deal tactfully with a wide range of personalities
  • Exceptional work ethic with a positive, analytical, and safe work attitude
  • Basic skills in the use of computer-based programs such as MS 365
  • Clean driving record with the ability to travel extensively within the Southern/Central US regions (60 โ€“ 80%.)
  • Must be able to communicate in English
