Job description

At SECURE, we lead the way in waste management and energy infrastructure, providing unmatched security and peace of mind to our customers. Our strength lies in our size, extensive network, solid reputation, industry expertise, and a relentless can-do attitude.

With an expansive infrastructure network spanning Western Canada and North Dakota, we deliver essential solutions where they are needed most. Our partnerships focus on safely recovering oil and metals, disposing of liquid and solid waste, recycling materials such as metals, water, and oil, and reclaiming contaminated land to reduce environmental footprints.

SECURE is committed to innovation, helping our customers lower costs, reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, and exceed their business, safety, and environmental goals. We go beyond expectations — mitigating risks, reducing financial obligations, and maximizing value for our clients.

Join SECURE and be part of a team that steps up to make a meaningful difference in the industries we serve and the world we share.

The Technical Account Manager supports the growth of SECURE's Water Treatment Solutions business by developing customer-focused, cost-effective solutions across industrial, municipal, and commercial markets in Canada and the U.S. This role is responsible for building strong customer relationships, identifying opportunities for business growth, and delivering technical expertise that helps customers improve operational performance while supporting SECURE's strategic objectives.

This role is based out of Calgary, Alberta.

Join a collaborative and entrepreneurial team that combines technical expertise with a customer-first mindset to deliver innovative water treatment solutions across a variety of industries. You'll work closely with laboratory, operations, and commercial teams, creating opportunities to learn from experienced professionals while contributing directly to customer success and business growth.

This role offers a dynamic blend of office, laboratory, and field-based work, with regular travel to customer sites throughout Canada and the U.S. Ideal for someone who enjoys building relationships, solving technical challenges, and working independently, this position provides the opportunity to make a meaningful impact while operating within SECURE's strong culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.

  • Develop and implement account plans aligned with business objectives to support customer growth, solution development, and account profitability
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities while expanding products and services within existing customer accounts
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with current and prospective customers through regular communication, meetings, site visits, and ongoing follow-up
  • Assess current and future customer needs to recommend appropriate water treatment and chemical solutions that support operational performance and long-term partnerships
  • Conduct proactive outreach, including networking and cold calls, to identify potential customers and generate new business opportunities
  • Support water treatment programs by utilizing basic laboratory equipment, assisting with field trials, and reviewing laboratory reports to evaluate product performance and suitability for customer applications
  • Collaborate with laboratory, operations, and sales teams to provide updates on customer activities, technical performance, and upcoming business opportunities
  • Monitor industry developments, market trends, and product innovations to help identify growth opportunities and improve customer solutions
  • Represent SECURE professionally within the community and industry to support relationship development and strengthen market presence

  • Post-secondary education in a related field (e.g., business, chemistry, environmental science, engineering technology, or a related discipline) is required
  • Experience working with water treatment solutions, flocculation and coagulation, dewatering, chemical applications, or related industrial processes is required
  • Previous experience in chemical sales, account management, or technical service is considered an asset
  • Knowledge of oilfield operations, mining operations, or industrial production processes, such as pulp and paper, dewatering, and food processing in Canada, is considered an asset
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driver’s abstract required, with the ability and willingness to travel to customer sites as needed
  • Strong understanding and commitment to Occupational Health and Safety standards and practices
  • Ability to interpret technical information, including laboratory reports and product performance data, and communicate findings effectively
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to prepare technical documentation and reports
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a professional, customer-focused approach, and the ability to identify customer needs, recommend effective solutions, and build long-term client relationships through strong interpersonal, organizational, and time management skills

At SECURE, we focus on opportunities for growth and improvement; for our employees, our customers, our partners, and the communities we operate in. We are an energetic team, driven by the needs of our customers, and we care about making a meaningful contribution. We strive to attract, retain, and motivate employees by offering a competitive compensation package that recognizes employee contributions and performance.
