Job Summary

Southern Company Services is seeking an Infrastructure Architect I – Infrastructure Automation Engineer to join its newly established Infrastructure as Code (IaC) team. This role is responsible for designing, developing, and implementing automation solutions that improve the efficiency, scalability, and reliability of enterprise IT infrastructure.

As part of an Agile Scrum team, you will build Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions that automate provisioning and lifecycle management across Windows, Linux, VMware, Hyper-V, networking, and storage environments using modern automation tools and DevOps practices.

Key Responsibilities

· Design, develop, and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions.

· Automate provisioning and lifecycle management of servers, storage, networking, and virtualization platforms.

· Develop reusable automation using Ansible, Terraform, Python, PowerShell, and Git.

· Support Windows, Linux, VMware, Hyper-V, and physical infrastructure environments.

· Collaborate with infrastructure teams to standardize enterprise automation solutions.

· Participate in Agile Scrum ceremonies and deliver sprint commitments using Jira.

· Troubleshoot automation workflows and infrastructure issues.

· Develop technical documentation, automation standards, and best practices.

· Mentor team members and promote automation and DevOps adoption across the organization.

· Continuously improve infrastructure reliability, scalability, and operational efficiency.

Required Qualifications

· Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field preferred.

· Strong software development and scripting experience.
