Banquet Server Job Summary:
The Banquet Server position is responsible for effectively assisting food and beverage service, guest attention, and overall logistics of banquet events by way of set-up, clear communication and teamwork resulting in a successful event.

Banquet Server Responsibilities:

  • Greets and communicates with all members in a warm, courteous and prompt manner.
  • Review Banquet Event Orders (BEO’s) at the beginning of each shift to ensure understanding of products and services available for the event.
  • Assists with set-up of tables, linens, chairs, etc. for full service of banquet events.
  • Prepares room for events by adjusting lights, sound volumes and temperature as needed after guests arrive.
  • Demonstrates sense of urgency when on the floor.
  • Provides all guests with a lasting experience of the clubhouse with intent for return business.
  • Maintains proper dining experience, delivering items, fulfilling guest’s needs, removing courses, replenishing utensils and refilling glasses.
  • Complies with departmental uniform and grooming standards.
  • Works effectively as a team with all departmental employees.
  • Works variety of shifts, as needed, to include nights, weekends and or holidays.
  • Complies with departmental and Club policies and procedures.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.

Banquet Server Qualifications, Skills, and Abilities:

  • At least 18 years of age or older.
  • One or more years of previous experience in food or customer service.
  • Completes alcohol awareness and food safety programs successfully within 30 days of hire.
  • Previous knowledge in serving fine wines and liquors is highly preferred.
  • Valid Drive License to operate company vehicles.
  • Ability to comprehend and follow both written and verbal instruction and communicate effectively in English.
  • Ability to manage a diverse workload and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must be able to use tact and understanding when dealing with a variety of customer service problems, including stressful and highly emotional situations.
  • Highly organized and able to handle multiple tasks and to deploy resources effectively.
  • Must have the willingness to provide exceptional service to members and desire to provide leadership to position the department to achieve the mission.
  • Ability to understand verbal and written direction in English.

Banquet Server Physical Requirements:

  • Standing and/or walking 100% of shift.
  • Lifting, carrying or moving up to 50 pounds.
  • Pushing, pulling, bending, stooping, and upward reaching.
  • Works in varied weather conditions, as directed by function.
