The beautiful Shangri-La Resort, located at the tip of Monkey Island in the center of northeast Oklahoma's Grand Lake O' the Cherokees, is currently taking applications for a Restaurant Supervisor. JOB DESCRIPTION
Assist Restaurant Manager in all phases of restaurant operations to ensure the highest quality standards are met for food and beverage, service, cleanliness, and maintenance of all operations. In absence of manager, take responsibility for complete restaurant operation.
REPORTS TO
Restaurant Manager
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Direct HIW operations and take needed action to ensure standards of product presentation and service are being maintained.
  • Respond to guest inquiries and coordinate special arrangements and requests with Catering and Meeting and Conventions.
  • Monitor servers and bus person adherence to all service standards.
  • Supervise service of guests, being watchful of signals from guests in need of service.
  • Assist manager to establish and monitor side work duty completion.
  • Maintain bank to Shangri-La standards.
  • Read daily communication sheets from previous shift and prepare one for the following shift. Check floor plan for appropriate coverage.
  • Check restaurant for cleanliness and set up. Check service stands and aisle areas. Check tables for cleanliness and proper set up.
  • Abide by all State, Federal and Corporate liquor requirements pertaining to serving alcoholic beverages.
  • Communicate daily with the Restaurant Manager regarding special events, house counts, etc.
  • Assist Restaurant Manager in conducting menu classes and taste panels.
  • Communicate both verbally and in writing to provide clear directions to staff.
  • Comply with attendance rules and be available to work on a regular basis.
  • Performs line employees job functions as needed under high volume and emergency situations.

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Related experience is preferred but not required.
  • Must have ABLE Liquor License.
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Must be able to maintain professional status through interface with customers, management, and co-workers.
  • Must be able to work flexible schedules, including but not limited to extended hours, irregular shifts, evenings, holidays, and/or weekends.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly is required to stand and walk for extended periods; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee occasionally is required to sit; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and lift more than 25lbs. Physical stamina and a proper mental attitude to work under pressure at a fast pace are essential. Must have the mental fortitude to handle the pressures of multiple tasks while providing excellent guest service.
