Server Assistant Job Summary

  • The Service Assistant is responsible for cleaning and resetting of the tables in the dining room, assisting the servers in attending to Guests needs in a prompt, efficient and above all, friendly and courteous manner according to Boston Pizza Restaurant & Sports Bar specifications and practices. The Service Assistant will help ensure that the restaurant is clean and organized at all times.

Responsibilities

  • May be required to assist in the training and development of new team members. Cooperation, communication and team work are essential traits for our team.  
  • Maintains a professional image and proper uniform standards while performing job related tasks.
  • Guest contact and high visibility in the dining room are important to ensuring a great dining experience.
  • Enquires periodically and timely about the Guest dining experience in a sincere manner. When necessary, involving a manager immediately if and when a negative Guest experience is identified.  
  • Responsible for thanking each and every Guest for the patronage in a sincere manner. Have a working knowledge of our menu and food products as a resource for the Guest.
  • The health and safety of our Guests is a priority. Cleanliness of the inside and outside of the restaurant must be adhered to in accordance with Boston’s and local health department expectations.
  • Proper practices must be in place to ensure food safety. Controlling time and temperature throughout the flow of food, practicing good personal hygiene and preventing cross-contamination.
  • Proper checklists and cleaning schedules are followed to ensure a clean and safe dining environment.
  • Proper cleanliness and organization of the restaurant with emphasis on the dining room, service stations, entrance ways, restrooms and the bar area.

Qualifications

  • Successful completion of hourly position validations, including reading training materials and watching videos. 
  • Responsible alcohol certification within 60 days of employment.
  • Must be 18 years old to serve alcohol or as state regulations dictate.
  • Excellent Guest service skills required
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment
  • Team oriented, adaptable, dependable, and strong work ethic
  • Ability to communicate effectively with Guests and team members
  • Ability to work nights, weekends and holidays
