POSITION SUMMARY: 

The Manager – Pricing and Planning (assigned by region) will lead an assigned team of planners and be the day-to-day point person for their assigned Sales Team.  The ideal candidate will demonstrate a willingness to learn and understand the tasks and responsibilities necessary to coordinate all advertising proposals as assigned.  This position is responsible for customer service support for our sales organization. They will communicate with multiple internal teams to ensure accuracy, has the ability to retain detailed information while working in a very fast paced environment; and maintain proper procedures to ensure efficiency.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Essential duties and responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Lead and develop a team of Sales Planners
  • Organize projects; prioritize work for self and team and set reasonable timelines
  • Maintain team resources and training materials
  • Generate and calculate accurate proposals for multiple account directors supporting national, local, and programmatic sales teams
  • Develop and maintain the highest level of communication with Sales Management and experienced Sales team to keep proposals competitive while managing pricing and inventory parameters
  • Process all proposals that go to order and ensure execution teams (inventory, campaign management, finance, digital ops, programmatic ops) are provided all pertinent information for execution
  • Attend client meetings as requested by sales including but not limited to programmatic or upfront kickoff calls
  • Partner with Sales VPs and Account Executives to engage in client communication on planning details and campaign performance
  • Contribute to the motivation and learning of the Sales Planning team by being a mentor for others
  • Collaborate with team and managers on ideas that could help improve or create new processes
  • Work closely with all members of the SPIA team and assist in special projects as assigned
  • Provide background information and strategic solutions to assist Sales and Marketing teams
  • Follow internal processes to ensure accuracy of all proposals
  • Participate in committees/teams and corporate projects as assigned including IT development

QUALIFICATIONS:

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • 4+ years related business experience necessary. Knowledge of sales, advertising, marketing or related-field industry a must. Management/mentorship experience preferred. Programmatic experience at a SSP, DSP, Agency, or Publisher preferred.
  • Highly proficient to strong skills in Microsoft Excel/Access with proficiency in other MS Office applications.
  • Must have the ability to work effectively and accurately in a fast-paced, high stress, high volume environment and meet deadlines
  • Ability to retain detailed information as it pertains to products, pricing, availability, guidelines, processes, personnel, and account management
  • Ability to take initiative and apply critical-thinking when problem-solving
  • Passionate attention to detail and exceptional organizational skills
  • Strong analytical ability and aptitude for numbers and accountancy; ability to work with large budgets and numbers as well as compute rates, ratio, percentages, fractions, media math, CPM calculations, decimals and pre-algebra
  • Good communication (written and verbal) skills with all level of staff
  • Must be self-starting, flexible, and be able to work independently with confidence
  • Must be highly trainable, willing to learn, and demonstrate a desire for growth
  • Self- motivating, assertive, and energetic with a team-player attitude
  • Work independently and effectively and has some decision-making responsibilities.

Experience: 4-7 years of related business experience necessary; Knowledge of sales, advertising, marketing or related-field industry a must. Management/mentorship experience preferred.

Education: College degree or equivalent experience in advertising, media, sales, or related field

SALARY RANGE & BENEFIT OPTIONS:

Salary Range: Base Salary of approximately $110,000-$130,000 annually plus bonus - compensation is commensurate with skills & experience.
