Your Role at Sephora:
Ready for a career glow up? As Senior Director, Marketing Data Science, you'll be responsible for building and evolving a strong foundation of data, data models, insights, and innovation to power Sephora's CRM and personalization strategy. The work you do will impact beauty, as you enable data-driven decisioning, advanced analytics, and machine learning capabilities that drive long-term client lifetime value and engagement. You'll manage and lead a high-performing data science team that's united in beauty, supported by those who are equally passionate about personalization, marketing technology, and client-centric growth.
What You'll Do:
  • Establish Marketing Data Science as a strategic asset that powers CRM, personalization, and marketing decisioning
  • Lead the development of advanced predictive models including CLV, propensity, churn, and 1:1 client targeting
  • Partner closely with Technology and Machine Learning teams to build best-in-class decisioning and data science capabilities
  • Lead a team of 10 (4 direct reports, 6 indirect reports)
  • Own the machine learning roadmap to ensure scalability, operational excellence, and long-term business value
  • Drive a culture of experimentation through A/B testing and iterative optimization to translate insights into action
  • Lead data foundation and governance efforts for Marketing, ensuring quality, transformation, and enterprise alignment
  • Serve as the center of excellence for Marketing data and analytics needs across the organization
  • Guide innovative CRM and personalization analytics to measure performance and effectiveness
  • Deliver advanced insights that inform client engagement strategy and long-term growth initiatives
  • Act as a strategic thought partner to senior leaders with broad visibility and enterprise impact
  • Hire, lead, coach, and develop a high-performing Marketing Data Science team
  • Influence cross-functional partners through strong storytelling, data fluency, and collaboration
  • Champion data-driven decision-making and client-centric thinking across Sephora

What You'll Bring:
  • 12+ years of experience in marketing data science, analytics, or data architecture leadership roles
  • Deep expertise in statistical modeling, predictive analytics, forecasting, and optimization techniques
  • Demonstrated experience building and scaling machine learning models for CRM and personalization use cases
  • Strong background in lifecycle marketing analytics, segmentation, and client lifetime value modeling
  • Proven ability to lead, inspire, and develop diverse, high-performing teams
  • Experience influencing and collaborating with senior leaders and cross-functional partners
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills with strong storytelling ability
  • Ability to operate effectively in fast-paced, ambiguous, and evolving environments
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Analytics, or a related field
  • High level of initiative, adaptability, and problem-solving mindset
  • Passion for innovation, experimentation, and building scalable data solutions

What You'll Get:
The annual base salary range for this position is $271,530.00 - $301,700.00 The actual base salary offered depends on a variety of factors, which may include, as applicable, the applicant's qualifications for the position; years of relevant experience; specific and unique skills; level of education attained; certifications or other professional licenses held; other legitimate, non-discriminatory business factors specific to the position; and the geographic location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will perform the job. Individuals employed in this position may also be eligible to earn bonuses. This job will be posted for a minimum of five days.
