The SEO Specialist responsible for executing key components of our organic search strategy to drive increased visibility, traffic, and conversions across a large, multi-location website.

This role supports ongoing SEO initiatives through content optimization, technical improvements, performance analysis, and local search enhancements. The SEO Specialist will contribute to improving search rankings, strengthening user experience, and supporting scalable growth across hundreds of national and location-based web pages.

In addition, this role plays a key part in managing SROA’s online reputation and local search presence by monitoring and optimizing Google Business Profiles, local listings, and customer reviews to ensure accuracy, consistency, and strong brand representation across all markets.

Working closely with the Director of Web & SEO Strategy, internal teams, and external partners, this role ensures SEO best practices are consistently implemented, prioritized, and aligned with broader business goals.

This is a hands-on, growth-oriented position in a fast-paced environment, offering exposure to multiple SEO disciplines, including technical, on-page, local SEO, and reputation management, with opportunities to expand into more strategic responsibilities over time.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Content & On-Page Optimization

  • Continuously audit and optimize existing web content for targeted keywords, improved readability, page metadata, and structured markup.
  • Assist in the development of content briefs, keyword research, and SEO-driven content strategies.
  • Work with content teams to ensure SEO best practices are applied to new and updated pages.

Local & Multi-Location SEO

  • Monitor, maintain, and optimize local SEO assets, including Google Business Profiles, local citations, and hundreds of location-specific pages.
  • Ensure accuracy and consistency of business information (NAP) across all local listings and directories.
  • Manage and optimize local listings at scale using relevant tools and platforms.
  • Monitor and respond to customer reviews across platforms, supporting brand reputation and engagement.
  • Identify trends in customer feedback and partner with internal teams to surface insights and recommend improvements.

Measurement & Reporting

  • Track and analyze keyword performance, traffic trends, rankings, and other SEO KPIs using tools such as Google Search Console, GA4, and SEMrush.
  • Prepare reports and provide actionable insights to support ongoing optimization efforts.

Collaboration & Project Support

  • Collaborate with the SEO team, developers, content stakeholders to support SEO initiatives and address technical issues related to items such as mobile friendliness, page displays, broken links, redirects, XML sitemaps, robots.txt, etc.
  • Help manage and coordinate deliverables with third-party SEO vendors and agencies, ensuring alignment with internal goals.

Market Research & Trends

  • Stay current on search engine algorithm updates, local search changes, and emerging SEO trends.
  • Proactively identify opportunities for testing, optimization, and innovation.

Qualifications:

  • 2-4 years of hands-on SEO experience, including technical, on-page, and off-page SEO. Multi-location SEO experience is a strong advantage.
  • Familiarity with technical SEO concepts including site architecture, Core Web Vitals, structured data, and indexation.
  • Proficiency in SEO tools such as Google Keyword Planner, Google Search Console, Google Analytics, SEMrush, Screaming Frog, Ahrefs, or similar platforms.
  • Strong research and analytical skills; comfortable interpreting data and turning insights into actions.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to clearly document findings and explain technical topics to non-technical teams.
  • Experience optimizing websites with a large number of pages or multi-location structure is a plus.
  • Basic understanding of HTML, CSS, and content management systems (headless CMS experience is a plus).
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, adapt to shifting priorities, and balance recurring SEO responsibilities with ad hoc requests and cross-functional projects.
