Overview:
Sentara Martha Jefferson Hospital is hiring a Registered Nurse for the Non Invasive Cardiology department. This is a full time-time day shift position in Charlottesville, VA. No Call, no nights! Ideal candidates will have a background in EKG, Stress Testing, and Telemetry.
Hours: 40 hours per week Monday through Friday. One Saturday day shift of 4 hours every 3rd week from 8a to noon. Variable shift times, all morning hours for Stress Testing.
Sign on bonus up to 7,500 available for qualified candidates.
About the department:
The noninvasive team at Sentara Martha Jefferson includes RN's, Cardiovascular Technicians, and Sonographers seeing an average of 7 patients a day both inpatient and outpatient. This role will focus on supervision of stress testing and monitor placement as well as backup for CCTA, MRI, and cardiac PET scans.

The Registered Nursing (RN) is responsible to perform a competent level of nursing care as demonstrated by the critical thinking model known as the nursing process. The standards of practice (assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, coordination of care- teaching and health promotion and evaluation) along with the standards of professional performance (ethics, culturally congruent practice, communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence- based practice /nursing research, quality, evaluation, resource utilization, and environmental health) encompass the actions and foundation of professional nursing. The RN possesses clinical knowledge and skills to meet standards as required by specific clinical areas.
Education
  • Degree or Diploma in Registered Nursing (required)
  • Bachelor of Science Nursing- BSN or MSN (Preferred)

Certification/Licensure
  • Registered nursing License (Required)
  • ACLS required prior to completion of orientation
  • BLS required within 90 days of hire

Experience
  • Preferred: 1-2 years Cath/EP Lab, radiology, or cardiac step-down experience will be considered. Ideal candidates will have a background in EKG/Telemetry and Stress Testing.
