Job description

Title: Sensor Specialist

 Position Type: Full-Time / Non-exempt
 Primary Location: Huntsville, AL or remote
 Reports To: Sensor Support and Engineering Manager
 Interfaces With: Director of Operations, Director of Maintenance, Project Managers, Sensor Operators, Logistics Providers, Clients
 Travel: Up to 25% as operations dictate

Position Summary

Revolution Geosystems LLC (RevGeo) is seeking a detail-oriented and technically capable Sensor Specialist to support the day-to-day management, tracking, deployment, maintenance coordination, and operational readiness of the company’s geospatial sensors.

The Sensor Specialist will serve as a key member of the sensor support team, ensuring sensors are properly maintained, calibrated, documented, shipped, and available to support client and company operations. This position is focused on sensor asset management, logistics coordination, sensor installation, issue tracking, and customer support..

The ideal candidate will possess experience with LiDAR and imagery sensors, strong organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects and equipment assets in a fast-paced operational environment.




Position ResponsibilitiesSensor Management
  • Maintain visibility and accountability of all company-owned and leased sensors.

  • Track sensor locations, utilization, maintenance status, and deployment schedules.

  • Manage sensor inventory records and asset documentation.

  • Coordinate sensor check-in and check-out processes.

  • Ensure all sensor equipment and accessories are properly accounted for and operationally ready.

Sensor Support
  • Assist in the testing and verification of sensor functionality prior to deployment.

  • Support troubleshooting efforts for fielded and deployed sensors.

  • Coordinate sensor repairs, preventive maintenance, and manufacturer support activities.

  • Document sensor issues and track resolution through completion.

  • Assist with boresight calibration and sensor validation activities as required.

Logistics & Deployment
  • Coordinate the shipment and return of sensors and related equipment.

  • Prepare and maintain shipping documentation and tracking records.

  • Work with transportation providers, freight carriers, and customs brokers as required.

  • Coordinate equipment deployment schedules and installations with project managers and  operations personnel.

  • Ensure sensors and support equipment arrive at project locations on time and in proper condition.

Documentation & Reporting
  • Maintain maintenance records, calibration histories, and equipment logs.

  • Generate reports on sensor utilization, maintenance status, and inventory levels.

  • Support compliance with company procedures and quality standards.

  • Maintain operational checklists and deployment documentation.

Customer & Operational Support
  • Serve as a point of contact for client inquiries related to sensor logistics and deployment status.

  • Coordinate with project managers to support mission planning and sensor readiness.

  • Support field personnel and sensor operators with equipment-related questions.

  • Assist in the development and improvement of sensor support processes and procedures.




Position RequirementsEducation & Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in GIS, Geomatics, Aviation, Engineering, Computer Science, Logistics, or a related field; equivalent experience may be considered.

  • Minimum of 2–5 years of experience supporting geospatial sensors, aviation operations, technical equipment, or logistics operations.

  • Experience working with airborne LiDAR, imagery systems, or other geospatial technologies preferred.
