Job Title:
Senior Appian Developer
About the role
As a Senior Appian Developer, you will make an impact by designing and implementing complex Appian solutions that optimize provider-domain business processes through intelligent automation and scalable digital workflows. You will be a valued member of the delivery team and work collaboratively with business stakeholders, product owners, architects, and cross-functional teams to deliver innovative Appian-based solutions that improve operational efficiency, service quality, and business outcomes.
In this role, you will:
• Design and develop complex Appian applications that support provider-focused business processes and enterprise workflow automation.
• Build and enhance solutions utilizing Appian RPA and Appian AI capabilities to improve process efficiency, decision-making, and user experience.
• Create BPMN-based process models that accurately translate business requirements into scalable and maintainable workflow solutions.
• Design, develop, and optimize integrations between Appian applications and enterprise systems.
• Configure and maintain MariaDB data models, schemas, and queries to support high-volume transactional applications.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders and product owners to refine requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
• Conduct unit, integration, and system testing to ensure solution quality, reliability, security, and compliance.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex application issues while supporting application performance tuning and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Create and maintain technical documentation, solution designs, process flows, and support artifacts.
• Support release planning, deployment activities, and ongoing production support in a collaborative delivery environment.

What you need to have to be considered
• Strong hands-on experience developing and delivering Appian solutions in enterprise environments.
• Expertise in Appian application development, including process models, interfaces, records, reports, rules, and workflow automation.
• Advanced proficiency with BPMN modeling and process automation design.
• Experience working with MariaDB, including schema design, query optimization, and relational database management.
• Hands-on experience configuring and implementing Appian RPA solutions.
• Experience leveraging Appian AI capabilities to support intelligent automation and workflow optimization.
• Strong understanding of integration patterns, APIs, and enterprise application connectivity.
• Experience collaborating directly with business stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver business-focused solutions.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively in distributed teams.

Salary and Other Compensation:
Applications will be accepted until September 11, 2025.
The annual salary for this position is between $102,000- $116,000 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
This position is also eligible for Cognizant's discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant's applicable plans.
