Position Overview
The Senior Application Developer / Engineer / Programmer will design, develop, test, and maintain cloud-native applications and microservices using Python and Amazon Web Services (AWS).
The ideal candidate has strong experience developing production-grade Python applications, building serverless and containerized solutions, implementing infrastructure as code, and designing RESTful APIs.
You will work closely with technical teams and business stakeholders to translate requirements into reliable, scalable, and maintainable technology solutions.
What You'll Do
Application Development & Cloud Infrastructure
  • Develop and maintain production-grade Python-based microservices.
  • Design and implement AWS infrastructure using AWS Cloud Development Kit (CDK).
  • Develop and maintain AWS Lambda applications and serverless solutions.
  • Model complex business processes and workflows using AWS Step Functions.
  • Build containerized applications and services using Docker.
  • Design, develop, and maintain RESTful APIs.
  • Implement API versioning, error handling, security, and performance best practices.
  • Work with AWS services including DynamoDB, S3, API Gateway, CloudWatch, and CloudTrail.
  • Develop infrastructure-as-code solutions supporting multiple environments.
  • Implement comprehensive application logging, monitoring, and audit capabilities.
Quality & Engineering Excellence
  • Conduct code reviews focused on maintainability, scalability, performance, security, and coding standards.
  • Develop comprehensive unit and integration tests.
  • Identify, troubleshoot, and remediate software defects and technical issues.
  • Improve application performance, reliability, and maintainability.
  • Participate in architecture and technical design decisions.
  • Maintain accurate technical documentation and system specifications.
  • Apply software development best practices throughout the SDLC.

Candidates with AI-assisted development experience may use these tools to:
  • Assist with code reviews and optimization.
  • Generate and improve technical documentation.
  • Debug and troubleshoot application issues.
  • Develop and expand automated test cases.
  • Accelerate development while maintaining engineering quality.

Candidates should be able to critically evaluate AI-generated code, identify potential issues, and make appropriate technical modifications rather than relying on AI-generated output without review.
Required Qualifications
Education & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • 7+ years of professional software development experience.
  • Demonstrated experience working throughout the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
  • Experience working in Agile software development environments.
