Job description

NetServices (NSI) is an IT services firm with a long-standing reputation for delivering high-quality, cost-effective solutions to drive lasting results. Now operating as a subsidiary of Synergy ECP, NSI continues to stand out in a crowded contracting landscape through its agility, strong customer focus, and commitment to retaining exceptional talent. By taking on challenging IT initiatives, we cultivate our talent and are continually evolving through our partnerships with clients. Our close-knot team of highly cleared engineers, analysts, and program managers represent some of the best talent locally available.

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior ServiceNow Developer to support mission-critical federal programs in a secure environment in Northern Virginia. This role is ideal for a seasoned developer who excels at building scalable, secure, and compliant ServiceNow solutions while working closely with technical leads, architects, and government stakeholders. The Senior Developer will design, develop, and enhance enterprise workflows, integrations, and custom applications that directly support high-visibility missions.

The ideal candidate brings deep hands-on expertise across the ServiceNow platform, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to deliver high-quality solutions in structured, regulated, or classified environments. This is not a configuration role. The right candidate writes sophisticated, production-grade code across the Now Platform, has strong instincts for when to extend OOB versus build custom, and can own a complex application from whiteboard to go-live without handholding. They bring architectural awareness to their development work, write code that other people can maintain, and operate as a trusted technical contributor in a matrixed delivery environment. Success in this role is measured by the ability to deliver reliable, maintainable, and mission-aligned capabilities that strengthen operational efficiency and platform performance.

This position offers the opportunity to directly support high-impact federal missions while advancing the maturity and capability of a growing ServiceNow ecosystem. The Senior Developer will play a critical role in delivering secure, scalable, and mission-aligned solutions that federal customers rely on every day.

What We're Looking For

A selfdirected developer who can own complex technical work from concept to deployment; someone who understands federal mission needs and can translate them into secure, scalable platform solutions; a collaborator who communicates clearly with both technical and nontechnical stakeholders; and a professional committed to quality, governance, and continuous improvement.

In this role, you will design and deliver secure, scalable, and upgradesafe ServiceNow solutions across ITSM, ITOM, HRSD, CMDB, SPM, and custom applications. You will build workflows, scripts, automations, and platform extensions; develop integrations using REST/SOAP, MID Server, JDBC, and modern API frameworks; and architect scoped applications that extend and enhance core platform capabilities.

Leading advanced custom application engineering by owning complex-scoped applications across Case, GRC/IRM, and SecOps. This includes building custom data models and table hierarchies, developing advanced server and clientside logic, creating Scripted REST APIs, and delivering custom portals and workspace experiences. You will also implement Flow Designer automations and develop custom Integration Hub spokes to support missionspecific workflows.

Extending and customizing IRM/GRC objects-such as risks, controls, POAMs, and findings-to meet DoD and Intelligence Community requirements. You will build advanced case management frameworks with custom routing, escalation, and SLA logic, enhance SecOps with vulnerability grouping, correlation engines, and automated remediation workflows, and develop dashboards, PA indicators, and crossapplication data linkages for unified risk visibility.

Delivering productiongrade integrations with federal systems, including eMASS, ACAS/Tenable, AD/PKI, ERP platforms, and agencyspecific tools. You will support classified and airgapped environments through MID Server-based integrations and build data ingestion pipelines, transform maps, and outbound REST/webhook interfaces for secure, reliable data exchange.

Operate with a high degree of autonomy-breaking down requirements, managing your backlog, communicating status, and escalating blockers early. You will produce highquality documentation, conduct peer reviews, mentor junior developers, maintain upgrade readiness, and participate in governance and CRB processes.

Supporting full SDLC execution, including requirements analysis, solution design, development, testing, deployment, and performance optimization. You will work within Agile/Scrum, enforce coding standards, troubleshoot platform issues, and support capacity planning.

Ensuring platform security, compliance, and governance aligned with federal and DoD standards. You will support upgrades, patches, module rollouts, and longterm sustainment while maintaining CMDB accuracy, data quality, and integration reliability. You will also prepare documentation, requirements definitions, and training materials.

Collaborating closely with architects, technical leads, and government stakeholders, support demos, CCB reviews, and release planning; and provide SME guidance across related ServiceNow initiatives.

To be successful in this role, you'll need:

  • 6-10 years of hands-on ServiceNow development experience.
  • Strong proficiency in JavaScript, Glide API, Script Includes, Business Rules, Client Scripts, UI Policies, Flow Designer, Integration Hub, and platform scripting.
  • Experience integrating ServiceNow with enterprise systems using REST/SOAP, MID Server, JDBC, and related technologies.
  • Demonstrated experience with CMDB/data modeling, Discovery, Service Mapping, and platform performance tuning.
  • Experience developing and maintaining scoped/custom applications.
  • Familiarity with Service Portal, AngularJS, HTML, CSS, and Bootstrap (preferred).
  • Strong understanding of security models, access controls, upgrade strategies, and compliance requirements.
  • Experience working in classified IC or DoD environments.
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and stakeholder engagement skills.
