Overview Heritage Bank has an exciting opportunity to join our organization! We are seeking a IT systems engineer to join our Information Technology team. This is a fully on-site position. The IT systems engineer is responsible for the stability, integrity, and efficient operation of the Bank's in-house information technology systems by implementing, monitoring, supporting and optimizing of network software, hardware, applications and associated operating systems. Knowledge of and experience administering, designing, or deploying operating systems such as Microsoft Exchange, Microsoft 365, Active Directory, AD Federation Services, SQL Server Always On Availability Groups, Microsoft Entra, IAM / PAM software, Load Balancers, and other current technology is highly desired. Preferred location for this position is Tacoma, WA; however depending on skills and experience, Heritage Bank locations in Bellingham WA , Bremerton, WA, or Hillsboro, OR may be considered. Base Salary Range $91,707.00 - $114,639.00 - $137,561.00 annual Role at a Glance: Plans and implements new enterprise systems and maintain existing systems, including but not limited to servers, messaging systems, security, IP telephony, backup and disaster recovery, virtualization technology, storage, and networking infrastructure. Monitors system and network utilization and capacity constraints. Makes recommendations to management, and implement in a timely manner. Serves as technical resource and subject matter expert for the Bank’s technical staff. Analyzes and applies patches, upgrades and changes on infrastructure systems. Designs, implements, and maintains backup and redundancy strategies on physical and virtual environments. Develops training and documentation materials for technical staff and/or end users, as applicable and/or required on project deliverables. Performs security audits of network-connected systems to ensure compliance with the Bank’s policies and procedures. Acts as a technical resource for technology design, research and acquisition of new hardware and software systems; recommend modifications and upgrades to management, as needed and/or required, implement in a timely manner. May lead and direct the work of others and serve as project leader. Understands and maintains working knowledge of, and ensures bank activities are performed in compliance with, all state and federal banking laws and regulations applicable to assigned area. Understands and complies with all policies, procedures, standards and guidance relevant to assigned job duties. Core Skills and Qualifications: High School Diploma or equivalent - required. Bachelor's Degree (BA/BS) in a Technical Field such as Information Technology, Computer Science, Systems Engineering, or related field – preferred. 3+ years recent systems and network management experience designing and implementing software systems, applications and related products in a Microsoft Windows environment - required. Experience in banking, financial services, or a mid to large size company - preferred. Cisco Certified Network Technician (CCNA), Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP), Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE), Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (MCSA) or other applicable certifications - preferred. Equivalent combination of education, certifications, training, and/or relevant work experience may be considered. Provides an exceptional level of service for internal and external customers, with the ability to build and maintain positive, professional relationships, to successfully interact with all levels and functional areas of the organization. Excellent business communication skills, with demonstrated ability to effectively communicate technical information verbally and in writing; with the ability to read, write, speak, and understand English well. Strong planning, organizational, time management, analytical and follow up skills, to ensure all assignments are appropriately prioritized and deadlines are met, with minimal direction and supervision. Thorough knowledge of software, hardware and network applications. Strong knowledge of network infrastructure and IP networking. Strong knowledge of computer network security systems, procedures, techniques and applications. Ability to manage, coordinate and organize data, gather a comprehensive view and design new concepts. Knowledge of both theoretical and practical aspects of project management to include requirements gathering and specifications development, demonstrating the ability to plan, and lead mid to large scale IT projects. Unquestionable integrity in handling sensitive and confidential information. Knowledge of network cabling standards for data and telecom. Working Environment/Conditions: Climate controlled office environment. Work involves being able to concentrate on the matter at hand, under sometimes distracting work conditions and frequent employee and/or customer contacts and interruptions during the day Work requires regular attendance, punctuality and adherence to agreed-upon schedule with willingness to work a flexible and/or rotating schedule and or extended hours, and assist at other locations or remotely, as needed. Physical Demands/Effort: Work may involve the constant use of computer screens, reading of reports, and sitting throughout the day. Ability to operate a computer keyboard, multi-line telephone, photocopier, scanner and facsimile which often requires dexterity of hands and fingers with repetitive wrist and hand motion. Typically sitting at a desk or table; frequently standing, intermittently stooping, bending at the waist, kneeling or crouching to file materials. Occasional lifting and/or moving up to 75 lbs. (files, boxes, etc.). Travel Time: 10 – 20% with willingness and availability to travel to other bank locations as needed to support bank infrastructure systems; valid driver’s license, proof of insurance, and access to reliable transportation; or the ability to access and utilize an alternative method of transportation, when needed, to carry out job-related essential functions.
