Posted 8 days ago

Job description

2026-4595

Artemis is seeking a full-time Producer and Director (Video Production) to lead cinematic storytelling efforts for the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center, the nation's premier military medical center. This role manages the entire video production lifecycle — transforming command messages, patient journeys, and medical breakthroughs into powerful and engaging video content — combining artistic vision with rigorous project management to deliver high-quality video products that support the strategic goals of the medical center.

The Producer and Director (Video Production) role requires a self-starter, proactive problem solver and action-oriented team player with previous experience in video production, cinematography, or multimedia storytelling within a federal, military, or healthcare environment. This position needs an individual that is committed to providing superior service, poised under pressure and has a positive and flexible attitude.

This is a contingent hire position.

Offers will be contingent upon client approval, ability to meet security requirements, and the ability to adhere to any on-site requirements (which may change at contract award).

Onsite work in Bethesda, Maryland is required.

  • Serve as lead project manager for all video productions: develop and manage a strategic video content calendar, create detailed production schedules, and handle logistics such as location scouting and talent coordination.
  • Manage the full production lifecycle for a diverse range of video products, including command messages, promotional videos, patient testimonials, educational content, event coverage, and social media shorts.
  • Lead all phases of production pre-production (storyboarding, scripting), production (directing, filming, lighting, audio capture), and post-production (editing, motion graphics, color grading, sound mixing).
  • Collaborate closely with the communications team to develop compelling video concepts and narratives that communicate key public affairs messages and strategic command goals to internal and external audiences.
  • Oversee the maintenance, inventory, and lifecycle management of all video and audio equipment, and recommend new technology and acquisitions to keep production capabilities current.
  • Manage the review and approval process for all video content, ensuring stakeholder input is incorporated before final sign-off from the senior videographer and leadership.
  • Apply HIPAA and Protected Health Information (PHI) safeguarding principles across all video products, including when conducting sensitive interviews in a hospital setting.
  • Ensure all video projects are delivered on time and on message within a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

  • Bachelors degree in Film, Video Production, Communications, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in professional video production
  • Portfolio of samples demonstrating expertise across all phases of production, from cinematography to post-production, is required.
  • Advanced proficiency with professional video editing software (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro), motion graphics software (e.g., Adobe After Effects), and color grading tools.
  • Proven experience in healthcare communications, Military public affairs, or a similar regulated, high-visibility environment, including experience conducting sensitive interviews in a hospital setting.
  • Thorough understanding of and ability to rigorously apply the principles of safeguarding HIPAA and PHI in all visual products.
  • Strong project management skills, with demonstrated experience managing video projects from concept to final delivery, including developing schedules, coordinating logistics, and managing resources.
  • Expertise in operating a range of professional video cameras, audio recording equipment, and lighting setups.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a public trust clearance (Tier II, non-critical sensitive position).
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S.

  • Strong critical thinking, analytical and time management skills.
  • Proven ability to organize, prioritize and work well with others.
  • Ability to communicate thoughts, ideas and solutions logically both written and orally.
  • Ability to stay calm under pressure and in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to receive feedback from clients and implement changes quickly and effectively.
  • Ability to get up to speed quickly on complex issues.
  • Desire to work in a fast-paced, rapidly evolving environment.
