Job description

Description

Tyto Athene is searching for a Senior Engineering Technician to design, develop, configure, install, and maintain Physical Security Engineering and Electronic Security Systems in support of customer mission security requirements. The Senior Engineering Technician will work as part of an integrated team including system administrators and network engineers to design and develop the next evolution of physical security and electronic security systems. Support will be on-site at Hawaii.

Responsibilities
  • Design, install, test and maintain physical security systems including, but not limited to, access control, closed-circuit television and intrusion detection.
  • Validate engineering drawings and in accordance with DoD engineering drawings practices.
  • Provide security engineering support including review and response to technical specifications, scope of work, product selection, surveys with customer interview, design, technical writing and implementation of Electronic Security Systems.
  • Conduct and lead site surveys.
  • Lead independent design reviews and make value-add recommendations.
  • Ability to troubleshoot LENEL manufactured security system and access control system equipment and software.
  • Evaluate new COTS products, identifies form fit function (FFF) replacements for end of life (EOL) equipment, reviews maintenance trouble tickets and research solutions.
  • Maintains As-Builts to include inside and outside plant, fiber optic infrastructure, CCTV, IDS, ACS, head end and other related Electronic Security Systems.
  • Develop Installation Design Packages (IDP) that are SIPH compliant for Electronic Security Systems such as PACS, IDS/PIDS, VMS, and other related low voltage systems for highly sensitive areas.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical or mechanical engineering and a minimum of seven (7) years’ experience; OR a minimum of ten (10) years’ experience if candidate does not have a degree.
  • 5+ years of experience in the development of Installation Design Plans (IDP’s) and Base Electronics Systems Engineering Plans (BESEPS).
  • A minimum of five (5) years’ experience in site survey participation, managing systems installations and maintenance of field support for information technology, AIS and system related equipment.
  • Experience with Axis video products.
  • Experience with computer and servers to include Windows 11, Server 2022 & 2025 experience.
  • A minimum of three (3) years’ experience managing subordinate technical personnel.
  • CompTIA Security+ certified.
  • Experience with Lenel Systems and Products.
Clearance
  • Active TS/SCI clearance with SCI Eligibility is required with the ability to obtain a CI polygraph.

This does not guarantee a specific salary as compensation is based upon multiple factors such as education, experience, certifications, and other requirements, and may fall outside of the above-stated range.
