Overview

Kimley-Horn is seeking a Transportation Practice Builder to join our office in Riverside, California (CA)! 

Responsibilities
  • Has an entrepreneurial spirit, creating a vision for growth in their personal practice while contributing to the growth of our transportation engineering practice in the local area and beyond
  • Assists in marketing and business development efforts with our existing local municipal, state, and private clients, while delivering a wide variety of transportation planning, traffic engineering, and/or ITS-related projects with our growing team of transportation professionals
  • Beyond serving our existing clients, has the ability to pursue own passions, project opportunities and clients
  • Leadership responsibilities include:
    • Operating with integrity and sound business principals
    • Providing vision, business planning and strategy
    • Establishing goals
    • Building and maintaining positive client relationships
    • Having open communication with your partners and team
    • Growing and leading a Transportation practice
  • Our Practice Builders manage their projects profitably, transition work to qualified staff, grow and mentor staff, and act as a positive leader and mentor
  • The successful candidate will be given a great deal of autonomy to lead, direct, and grow their business
  • With success, this individual will enjoy the rewards of an impressive bonus program with the potential to advance to ownership

Qualifications
  • Bachelors Degree in Civil or Transportation Engineering 
  • At least 15 years of experience in transportation planning, traffic engineering, traffic operations, and/or ITS planning and design
  • Registered license (PE and/or TE) 
  • Track record of successfully winning and delivering work in Riverside and surrounding communities 
  • Established relationships with local DOT, local agencies, and/or local municipalities
  • Demonstrated ability to manage transportation projects profitably through agency specifications
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and technical skills
  • Strong desire and ability to be engaged with clients solving project problems
  • Ability to effectively communicate positively at all levels of the organization
  • Ability to manage and mentor staff and direct resources effectively in a positive manner

Base Salary Range:

  • $145,000 - $250,000
  • Eligible for performance-based bonus compensation
