As a senior transportation driver, you pick up and drive elderly passengers to doctor’s appointments, grocery shopping, or to complete other errands. You may work for a transportation company, an assisted living facility, or a senior care center. As part of your duties, you typically respond to dispatch calls and then safely drive either a small bus or specially-outfitted vans to pick up passengers. Upon arriving at their residence or another location, you may assist passengers as they enter or exit the vehicle. Other responsibilities involve helping your clients with bags, operating gurney equipment, and loading and unloading wheelchairs or other necessary equipment.
