Description JOB DESCRIPTION POSITION: Elderly Transportation Bus Driver - On Call LOCATION: Red Cliff Elderly Nutrition Center WAGE: $15.00 per hour SUPERVISOR: Red Cliff Elderly Services Director THIS IS AN ON-CALL POSITION. APPLICANTS WILL BE SELECTED FROM THE INFORMATION SUPPLIED ON APPLICATION FORM ONLY. THERE WILL BE NO INTERVIEWS

JOB SUMMARY: Primary responsibility is ensuring Elders are transported with care and respect, from their homes to the Elderly Congregate Lunch program, and safely returned home afterward. Examples of Duties DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Maintain transportation reporting logs.

2. Communicate with clients to confirm pick-up times when needed. 3.

Distribute informational materials to clients as assigned. 4. Maintain confidentiality.

5. Analyze and solve problems within available/appropriate means. 5.

Maintain a clean vehicle. 6. Have a willingness to learn or knowledge in the safe transporting of wheelchair bound and handicapped clients.

7. Have a willingness to learn or knowledge in proper lifting techniques for lifting clients. 8.

The above duties and responsibilities are not an all-inclusive list but rather a general representation of the duties and responsibilities associated with this position. The duties and responsibilities will be subject to change based on organizational needs and/or deemed necessary by the supervisor. SUPERVISORY AUTHORITY: None Typical Qualifications KNOWLEDGE: QUALIFICATIONS: Previous experience working with elders; preferred.

Must possess the ability to communicate effectively with elders and disabled community along with program staff in a positive manner. Must have ability to get in and out of vehicles frequently and with ease. Must be able to safely lift 50 pounds.

This position must possess and maintain a current, valid driver's license, vehicle, and appropriate vehicle coverage as a condition of employment. Be eligible to be put on the Tribe's vehicle insurance policy. Must be able to pass a routine and caregiver background check.

7. Must be dependable, flexible, and have a genuine interest in helping elderly. Supplemental Information PERSONAL CONTACTS: Daily contact with Nutrition Program staff and clients.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Individual Must have ability to get in and out of vehicles frequently and with ease. Some bending, and lifting may be required. The driver must be able to do all movements associated with transporting clients.

WORK ENVIRONMENT: All Tribal Buildings are smoke free. TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS: None. BEHAVIOR AND ATTITUDE: The vision, goals and objectives of the Red Cliff Band of Lake Superior Chippewa requires that the employee performs in both a professional and personable manner.

The manner in which the employee relates to fellow employees, customers and visitors is considered parallel in importance to technical knowledge and ability. Respect and consideration given to the dignity of each customer, visitor and fellow employee is a requisite of successful job performance. Any behavior or attitude that tarnishes the name or image of the Red Cliff Band of Lake Superior Chippewa will be subject to immediate disciplinary action up to and including termination.
