Job description

BlueWave is hiring a Senior Mechanical Engineer for a large-scale energy and utility client supporting power generation operations across Central Florida. This role is responsible for leading complex mechanical engineering projects focused on plant reliability, outage execution, equipment performance, and operational efficiency improvements across multiple generation facilities.


Responsibilities

·        Lead mechanical engineering projects supporting power generation and industrial facility operations

·        Provide technical oversight for outages, equipment upgrades, maintenance projects, and reliability initiatives

·        Troubleshoot equipment failures and perform root cause analysis for critical plant systems

·        Develop engineering solutions involving rotating equipment, fluid systems, piping, and thermodynamic processes


Requirements

·        Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline

·        10+ years of experience in power generation, utilities, or heavy industrial environments

·        Strong knowledge of turbines, boilers, heat recovery systems, and auxiliary mechanical equipment

·        Experience supporting outages, maintenance planning, reliability engineering, and capital projects

·        Proficiency with engineering analysis/design tools and strong understanding of thermodynamics and fluid systems

  • Experience with pumps, pipes and valves
