Job description

Role: Network & Telecom Engineer / Lead
Location: 557 Broadway, New York, NY 10012 - Onsite
Network & Telecom Engineer / Lead
Combined (Dual-Track) - Network & Voice/UC
Role Summary
Versatile senior engineer and technical lead to support both network and voice/UC services across local/office sites, data centers, and cloud. Owns incidents and changes end-to-end across the network-to-voice boundary - where problems are often mis-triaged between teams. Should be strong in one track and genuinely operational in the other.
Note: single-track specialists are also welcome (see the separate Network and Telecom job descriptions). This combined role suits engineers who can resolve cross-domain issues such as voice quality over the WAN, SIP connectivity through firewalls, and site turn-ups spanning LAN, wireless, and voice.
What You'll Support
  • Network: Cisco Nexus / IOS-XE routing & switching (OSPF, BGP, vPC, VRF, QoS), Palo Alto firewalls (Panorama), Cisco wireless + FortiNAC, ISE/TACACS, MPLS/IPsec WAN, and AWS/OCI connectivity.
  • Telecom / UC: Cisco CUCM, Unity Connection, IM&P, Expressway, CUBE/SBC and voice gateways, SIP trunks/DIDs, plus Zoom/Teams and contact-center platforms.
  • Shared: local/office sites, data centers, and cloud (US, Canada, and international); SolarWinds and ServiceNow (ITSM/CMDB); PCI/SOC-regulated scope.

Key Responsibilities
  • Own complex incidents and changes across both network and voice; lead end-to-end P1 bridges.
  • Resolve cross-domain issues (QoS-for-voice, SIP-over-WAN, remote-access/MRA, DMZ/firewall, DNS/certificates) without re-triage.
  • Deliver combined site turn-ups and IMACs spanning LAN/WAN, wireless, and voice.
  • Perform root-cause analysis, manage vendor/Cisco TAC cases, and set technical standards across both tracks.
  • Mentor and uplift frontline teams on both domains; keep documentation and the CMDB accurate.
  • Partner on cross-domain design, automation, and continuous improvement.

Required Skills & Experience
  • 10+ years spanning enterprise network and voice operations, including senior or lead-level responsibility across both domains.
  • Documented production experience in the secondary track - not exposure only (e.g., a network-primary engineer who has run CUCM dial-plan and CUBE/SIP changes, or vice versa).
  • Evidence of resolving network-to-voice incidents end-to-end is a strong differentiator.
  • Comfortable with ITIL processes in ServiceNow and PCI/SOC boundaries; clear English able to lead cross-domain P1 bridges and write clean RCAs.

Certifications
  • CCNP-level minimum in the primary track (Enterprise or Collaboration); CCIE strongly preferred.
  • Supporting credentials: Palo Alto (PCNSE) and/or AWS/OCI networking for network-primary; certificate/security and Cisco TAC experience for voice-primary.
