Role Summary
This senior-level role focuses on 5G network engineering, application modernization, and artificial intelligence/machine learning integration within telecommunications infrastructure. The position involves transforming legacy applications into scalable, cloud-native platforms and leveraging AI/ML models to optimize network performance. It requires collaboration with network engineering and IT teams to drive automation, efficiency, and innovative solutions supporting next-generation services.

  • In compliance with federal law, all persons hired must verify their identity and eligibility to work in the United States and complete the required employment eligibility verification form upon hire. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States without employer sponsorship, now or in the future.

Responsibilities

  • Modernize and re-architect legacy telecom applications into scalable, cloud-native, Java-based platforms.
  • Apply AI/ML models to enhance 5G network performance, capacity planning, and fault management.
  • Identify and implement efficiency improvements across the entire 5G ecosystem, including RAN, Core, Transport, and Edge.
  • Partner with network engineering and IT teams to develop and deploy intelligent automation and AIOps solutions.
  • Develop high-performance Java applications supporting real-time telecom workloads.
  • Analyze large-scale network data to provide actionable insights, reduce latency, and optimize costs.
  • Support innovation initiatives, proof-of-concept projects, and pilots associated with 5G monetization and operational excellence.
  • Collaborate on the deployment of network automation, orchestration, and observability platforms.
  • Conduct performance analysis and optimization for applications and network components.
  • Drive measurable improvements in network latency, operational costs, application resiliency, and automation levels.

Qualifications

  • Recent PhD or Master’s graduates in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, or related fields (2025/2026).
  • Experience with 5G architectures, including RAN, Core, Edge, and open RAN exposure is a plus.
  • Development background in Java and familiarity with modern application frameworks.
  • Hands-on experience with AI/ML frameworks such as TensorFlow or PyTorch.
  • Proven expertise in application transformation and performance optimization.
  • Strong understanding of telecom service provider environments.
  • Experience working with cloud platforms, CI/CD pipelines, Python, and related technologies.
  • Knowledge of network automation, orchestration, and observability platforms is preferred.
  • Familiarity with Kubernetes, microservices, and hybrid cloud architectures is advantageous.
  • Ability to deliver measurable improvements in network performance and operational efficiency.

Publishing Pay Range: $50.00 - $55.00 Hourly
