What is a senior technical underwriter?

A Senior Technical Underwriter is an experienced insurance professional responsible for evaluating and assessing complex insurance risks, typically in specialized fields such as commercial or industrial insurance. They analyze applications, review technical data, and determine appropriate coverage terms, premiums, and conditions. Senior Technical Underwriters often handle high-value or unusual cases, provide guidance to junior underwriters, and work closely with brokers, clients, and actuaries to ensure accurate risk assessment.
