Job description

Senior Systems Engineer – AI Integration (Hybrid- San Diego, CA or Kirkland, WA)

We are looking for a Senior Systems Engineer for a large, global B2B high-tech company. In this role, you will build software tools to automate deployment and testing of compute infrastructure. You will apply test-driven development principles and help us move closer to our goal of continuous delivery.

This is a 12-month contract (Extension possible), 40 hours per week, hybrid role, 2-3 days onsite at client’s office in San Diego, CA or Kirkland, WA.

This is a W2 employee of Stage 4 Solutions. Health benefits and 401K are offered.

Must be a US citizen or Green Card holder.

Responsibilities:

  • Build software tools to automate deployment and testing of compute infrastructure
  • Scale critical services such to support customer growth
  • Apply test-driven development principles and help us move closer to our goal of continuous delivery
  • Research and implement new open-source and commercial tools, technologies and methodologies
  • Collaborate with peer teams who have built world-class networking and orchestration solutions

Requirements:

  • Experience in leveraging or critically thinking about how to integrate AI into work processes, decision-making, or problem-solving. This may include using AI-powered tools, automating workflows, analyzing AI-driven insights, or exploring AI's potential impact on the function or industry.
  • A strong background in programming with Python
  • A strong background in Linux systems architecture and engineering
  • Experience managing infrastructure as code with Terraform
  • Experience with applying a configuration management platform such as Puppet at scale
  • Understanding of core concepts around Kubernetes and Docker
  • Prior experience in software development or release management is highly desirable
  • Familiarity with virtualization and cloud infrastructure technologies
  • 5+ years of related experience with a Bachelor's degree; or 3 years and a Master's degree; or equivalent work experience.
