Job description

For a cross-departmental large-scale IT project in the public sector, we are seeking an experienced professional with extensive expertise in system engineering.
As Lead System Engineer, you will be responsible for planning, implementing, and operating complex system landscapes. You will act as the technical link between architecture, development, and operations, ensuring that the performance, stability, and security of the systems meet the highest standards.
You will work both strategically with regard to architectural decisions and technology standards - and operationally, to successfully deliver critical systems, integrations, and migrations.

Your Responsibilities
Planning, designing, and implementing complex IT infrastructures
Overall technical responsibility for system architectures and integration projects
Ensuring system performance, stability, high availability, and security
Analyzing and resolving technical issues (3rd-level support)
Close collaboration with architecture, development, and operations teams
Creating and maintaining technical documentation, operations manuals, and guidelines
Managing system migrations, rollouts, and integrations
Supporting the implementation of security and compliance requirements
Providing technical coaching to project and operations teams

Your Profile
5+ years of experience as a PEGA Lead or Senior System Engineer
Proven experience in leading technical implementation projects
In-depth knowledge of server, storage, network, and virtualization technologies (e.g., Linux, Windows, VMware)
Experience with cloud environments (AWS, Azure, OpenShift) and hybrid architectures
Skills in automation, scripting (Bash, PowerShell, Python), and configuration management (e.g., Ansible, Puppet)
Experience in performance analysis, monitoring, and tuning of complex systems
Fluent German language skills; good English skills desirable
Structured, analytical, and solution-oriented work style with strong execution skills
