Job description

The Senior Structural Engineer coordinates closely with the Piping, Mechanical and Electrical groups. Design of foundations and steel framing to support equipment and utilities. Work will also include the design of foundations and superstructures for platforms, walkways, and other elevated structures. The Senior Structural Engineer reports to the Structural Discipline Manager. Completed technical work is reviewed by senior management before being presented to the client.
Qualifications
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in an engineering role
  • Working knowledge of AISC, ACI and ASCE7 design codes
  • An interest and aptitude in the design of steel and concrete structures
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office programs
  • Proficient in AutoCAD
  • Proficient the use of structural analysis modelling software
  • Understanding of Advance Steel and Revit programs is a plus
  • Ability to plan and execute work with limited direction
  • Excellent communication and writing skills
  • Establish and maintain good client relations
  • Attention to detail, highly organized and performance of self-checking of work
  • Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering with a focus on concrete, steel and foundation design coursework, advanced degree a plus
  • P.E. certification required
