What does a senior storage administrator do?

A Senior Storage Administrator is responsible for managing, configuring, and maintaining an organization’s data storage systems, including storage area networks (SAN), network-attached storage (NAS), and backup solutions. They ensure data is securely stored, regularly backed up, and easily retrievable when needed. Their role often includes performance monitoring, troubleshooting storage issues, planning for capacity, and implementing disaster recovery strategies. Senior Storage Administrators also play a key part in evaluating and deploying new storage technologies to meet organizational needs.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a senior storage administrator, and why are they important?
