Job Summary

Working independently, analyzes operations data (e.g., claims, membership, provider, call, and inventory data) to answer client questions, measure the effectiveness of business decisions, and identify opportunities for improvement. Utilizes best practices to solve moderately complex problems. Possesses advanced data analysis/statistical knowledge and skills. Participates on cross-functional teams to complete projects. Presents analysis results to division leadership. Serves as a knowledge resource for junior staff.

Responsibilities
  • Collects, synthesizes, and analyzes operations data from various sources to answer client questions, measure the effectiveness of business decisions, and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Creates visualizations and/or presentations to share results with a variety of audiences.
  • Serves as a knowledge resource for junior staff.
  • Builds and maintains reports for internal teams.
  • Participates on cross-functional teams to complete projects.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in statistics, applied mathematics, data analysis, or related field. Master’s degree preferred.
  • 5 years of data/statistical analysis experience, preferably in health insurance or other financial services.
Technical Skills and Knowledge
  • Advanced data/statistical analysis, programming (Python, PySpark, and SQL), visualization (Power BI), and Microsoft Office skills.
  • Full understanding of relevant data (including structures, definitions, and relationships).
  • Ability to utilize best practices to solve moderately complex problems.
  • Ability to define business requirements without assistance and meet them consistently.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with division leadership.
  • Desire and ability to serve as a knowledge resource for junior staff.
