Job Description

Role Overview

The Sr. Manager, Sports Marketing, will lead projects to support the planning and execution of marketing various high-profile NBC Sports properties including the Olympics, Paralympics and Sunday Night Football, while playing a key role on the MLB on NBC and Peacock marketing team. This position will be responsible for contributing to the goal of driving awareness, subscriber acquisition and retention, and viewership of sports properties across streaming, linear and digital platforms. This role will report to the Director, Sports Marketing.

Responsibilities

  • PROPERTY LEADERSHIP AND REPRESENTATION:
    • Responsible for day-to-day management of process and development of season-long roadmap for assigned properties
    • Proactively collaborate cross-functionally with various NBCUniversal and NBC Sports business units, including production, programming, partnerships, social, sales, digital & marketing internal teams and other key stakeholders to ensure alignment on Sports Marketing plans and initiatives
    • Present property and campaign updates to internal and external teams, and communicate with senior leaders about marketing programs and strategies
    • Represent owned properties on a regular basis with appropriate level staff members at external partners
    • Represent owned sports properties with cross-NBCU partners for multi-title/property marketing efforts
    • Own and manage consumer activation budget for select properties
  • CROSS-FUNCTIONAL CAMPAIGN MANAGEMENT:
    • Develop workflow leading into campaign launches, run meetings and oversee tracking of progress on all asset deliverables and recapping of campaigns
    • With increasing independence, create multiple plans and then lead the execution of marketing campaigns for NBC Sports properties across streaming and linear
    • Using the strategy for the property and overall Marketing teams goals as a guide, proactively analyze plans and bring new ideas for Sports Marketing internal teams and larger cross company efforts
    • Oversee creation of reports and presentations around marketing efforts for property initiatives by using information from all relevant engagement sources
  • ACTIVATION LEADERSHIP:
    • Supervise RFP development and work with Sourcing team to select agency partners
    • Oversee all aspects of execution
  • TEAM LEADERSHIP:
    • Manage direct report and invest in developing team members to support NBC Sports while delegating and supervising tasks
Qualifications

Basic Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Communications, Digital Media, Business, or a related field
  • Minimum of six (6+) years of professional experience in campaign development and execution, ideally within a media company, professional sports league, or at an advertising, marketing, branded content, or media agency
  • Experience managing at least one direct report
  • Experience with the Olympics, MLB and/or  the streaming space is a plus
  • Willingness to travel and work overtime, and on weekends with short notice

  • Hybrid: This position currently has a hybrid schedule, which requires contributing from the office a minimum of four days per week. The Company reserves the right to change in-office requirements at any time.

  • Salary range: $100,000- $125,000 (bonus eligible)
