Job Summary:
Assured Information Security (AIS) is a leading cyber and information security company supporting mission critical operations. They are seeking a Software Engineer II to contribute to research, engineering design, and the development of innovative software solutions within their Trusted Systems team.
Responsibilities:
• Develop, debug, and test different software solutions with oversight from senior technical staff
• Work effectively within a Linux-based development environment
• Work with senior engineers to design and develop software
• Contribute to an agile environment with an integrated team of developers, testers, and investigators
• Contribute to technical documentation
• Participate in code and design reviews with oversight from senior technical staff
• Effective task decomposition and level of effort estimation over narrow software and system space
Qualifications:
Required:
• Minimum of two years professional software engineering experience
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field of study, and 2 years of relevant work experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Experience with C/C++ or Rust
• Experience with Python, Go, Bash or other scripting languages
• Working knowledge of relational databases and SQL
• Experience working in a Linux environment
• Knowledge of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) concepts
• Strong foundation in operating systems, data structures and programming fundamentals
• Familiarity with virtualization / containerization (e.g., docker, KVM, VirtualBox, Xen)
• Ability to understand and describe technical software systems
• Active Secret clearance
