Position Description:
CGI is seeking an experienced Full Stack Senior Software Engineer with 5+ years of experience in designing and developing scalable enterprise applications. The ideal candidate will have strong hands on experience in frontend and backend development using modern technologies, along with exposure to AWS cloud services and DevOps practices.This role involves designing, building, deploying, and maintaining high quality applications across the full stack to deliver real business value. The candidate should be capable of ensuring applications are stable, scalable, performant, and secure across environments.
Hands on experience with AI assisted development tools is required, with the ability to leverage these tools to improve development productivity, code quality, and testing efficiency.
Candidates will take ownership of application components from design through production and provide support. This role requires strong technical execution, sound judgment, and the ability to work independently while collaborating closely with product owners/managers, UX/UI designers, data partners, and other engineers. Candidate will help ensure applications are reliable, secure, scalable, and maintainable while enabling data driven decisions across the organization.
Exposure to data and BI tools (such as Databricks, Power BI, or similar) is considered a plus, with the ability to support analytic driven insights where needed.
Your future duties and responsibilities:
Software Design, Development & Maintenance
. Design and implement application features using JavaScript/TypeScript, React, Node.js, and related technologies on our AWS framework
. Own the quality and maintainability of code within assigned applications or services
. Refactor existing functionality to improve performance, security, and scalability
. Review code contributed by other engineers and provide actionable feedback
. Commit, branch, merge, and review code using Git.
. Troubleshoot and resolve complex defects across front end, backend, and data layers
. Maintain clear technical documentation covering architecture, APIs, and operational behavior
. Collaborate to resolve production issues, meeting SLA targets and minimizing business impact.
. Use AI assisted development tools to improve productivity while retaining accountability for design and outcomes
Testing & Quality Engineering
. Define and maintain test strategies and test automation for assigned components or services
. Build and optimize unit, integration, and end to end tests using tools such as Playwright
. Use AI assisted testing platforms to identify regressions, generate test cases, and reduce manual testing effort
. Lead analysis and resolution of defects, incidents, and quality trends
Deployment, Operations & Production Support
. Design, build, and maintain automated deployment pipelines using DevSecOps practices
. Support applications in production, including incident response and root cause analysis
. Analyze logs, metrics, and alerts using monitoring and observability tools
. Apply AI assisted tools to improve logging, monitoring, and operational insights
. Participate in on call rotations and support deployments outside normal work hours when required
. Contribute to change management activities, release readiness, and technical training
BI & Data Enablement
. Design and maintain data pipelines and models using Databricks and SQL
. Create and evolve dashboards in Power BI and Grafana to support operational and business decision making
. Monitor data quality and implement automated validation and anomaly detection
. Partner with stakeholders to define analytics requirements and translate them into technical solutions
. Maintain documentation and support users in understanding data outputs and limitations
Requirements & Cross Functional Collaboration
. Collaborate with business stakeholders and UX/UI teams to translate business needs into technical solutions
. Provide technical input on feasibility, trade offs, and implementation approaches
. Use data, user behavior insights, and AI assisted analysis tools to refine functionality and user experience
. Mentor less experienced engineers through guidance, reviews, and shared problem solving
Required qualifications to be successful in this role:
Experience & Technical Skills
. 5+ years of professional software engineering experience
. Strong hands on experience with: JavaScript / TypeScript React and Material UI Node.js Git Agile delivery practices
. Experience building, deploying, and supporting applications on AWS, including: AWS RDS (PostgreSQL), MongoDB Atlas Lambda, S3, EC2, CloudWatch, and Step Functions AWS CLI, CloudFront, Security Groups, and Elastic Container Service (ECS) CI/CD pipelines using AWS Code Pipeline and cloud based deployments via CloudFormation
. Practical experience with testing and quality practices, including Automated testing frameworks such as Playwright CI/testing and test management tools (Jenkins, Zephyr) Performance and reliability testing tools (JMeter) Comfort working in Linux CLI environments
. Working knowledge of data, BI, and analytics tools, including Python and SQL Databricks, Power BI, and Grafana
. Strong application design skills, with attention to scalability, reliability, and maintainability
. Ability to responsibly leverage AI tools to improve development efficiency, testing, troubleshooting, and data analysis

Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range for this role in the U.S. is $79,600.00 $176,300.00.
