The Opportunity
As the Senior Maintenance Engineer, you are responsible for overseeing the installation, repair, and maintenance of all building structures, finishes, fixtures, and machines at our Grindstone Laundry facility. This position plays a pivotal role in ensuring that operations align with applicable building codes and company standards, while also driving maximum productivity and delivering superior customer service and satisfaction.
What You Get to Do
  • Respond promptly to work orders on a daily basis, ensuring tasks are completed according to company priorities and schedules.
  • Coordinate with appropriate management to effectively implement tasks and adhere to established timelines.
  • Ensure that all cleaning materials, chemicals, and equipment are used in strict accordance with manufacturer's instructions as outlined in Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS).
  • Maintain rigorous compliance with all Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) safety rules and regulations.
  • Perform repairs and routine maintenance on company buildings, mechanical equipment, and update replacement inventory as necessary.
  • Take full accountability for the cleanliness and overall condition of the laundry facility during task execution.
  • Maintain a tidy, safe, and organized work area at all times.
  • Ensure adherence to all service standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Interact with laundry technicians, customers, and other department associates in a professional, respectful, and courteous manner.
  • Maintain a valid driver's license when required to operate a company vehicle.
  • Fulfill any additional duties as assigned by management that are related to this role.

What Qualifies You
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • Two (2) years related experience in laundry/production maintenance or occupationally significant combinations of vocational education or on-the-job training.
  • Must have 10k hours / 5 years' experience and hold the Chief 2nd Class B Engineer license.
  • Low Pressure Boiler License or obtain the license within 6 months of employment.
  • Mille Lacs Band Member and American Indian preference will be exercised in the hiring process.

Must Have Skills
  • Demonstrate strong hand-eye coordination, self-motivation, teamwork skills, and flexibility in scheduling.
  • Proficient in writing routine correspondence reports and utilizing email communication effectively.
  • Competent in using Microsoft applications and company-issued software platforms.
  • Must be able to effectively communicate in one-on-one, small group situations, and to moderate-sized gatherings of Associates, executives and/or community leaders.
  • Must be able to apply common sense understanding to a variety of situations, to collect data, analyze facts, and determine appropriate response.
  • Must be able to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and technical documents.

While performing the duties of this job, the Associate is regularly required to:
  • Talk and hear.
  • See and adjust focus to include close, distance, color, depth, and peripheral vision.
  • Stand, walk, run, sit, balance, stoop, kneel, climb, crouch, and/or crawl.
  • Handle objects, tools, and controls; reach with arms and hands.
  • Lift, push, pull and/or move objects weighing up to one hundred (100) lbs.

While performing the duties of this job, the Associate is regularly exposed to:
  • A low-to-moderate noise level (offices).
