Job description

Our growing customer is looking for a hands-on subject matter expert Sr. Electrical Engineer to design, build, test, and support LED-based lighting products for machine vision applications. This role owns hardware design from concept through production release and works closely with mechanical, software, optical, test, and manufacturing teams. 

  • Bring innovative LED lighting products to life by designing analog and digital circuits, including LED drivers, power conversion, signal conditioning, and control interfaces.
  • Turn ideas into production-ready designs by creating schematics and PCB layouts using tools such as Altium, Eagle, or KiCad, with a strong focus on signal integrity, thermal performance, and EMC best practices.
  •  Design analog and digital circuits for LED lighting products, including LED driver circuits, power conversion, signal conditioning, and control interfaces
  • Make thoughtful, well-documented technical decisions around component selection, circuit architecture, and testing strategies while balancing requirements, lifecycle, availability, and cost.
  • Solve real-world engineering challenges by applying thermal analysis and thermal management techniques for high-output LED systems.
  • Support a smooth path from design to manufacturing by developing BOMs, work instructions, and supporting documentation for both new and revised products.
 


  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering preferred; Associate's degree with relevant experience considered
  • 7+ years of relevant electrical hardware design experience preferred with demonstrated experience contributing to electrical design projects from concept through production release 
  • Experience with electrical hardware design, PCBA layout, and design for manufacturability, cost, and performance
  • Skilled in circuit troubleshooting and failure analysis; circuit performance related to EMC/EMI and design practices that support compliance
  • Working knowledge of LED technology, LED drivers, power electronics, thermal management, and electronic components
  • Ability to use lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, power supplies, electronic loads, DMMs, and thermal imaging tools
  • Strong troubleshooting, analytical, documentation, and communication skills
