Who we're looking for
The TFS Operational Data Exchange team is seeking a highly motivated person to fill an opening as a Senior Software Engineer role to help our growing Enterprise needs. The Senior Software Engineer will build on their passion for software engineering and combine with skills for operational excellence to build solutions to scale industry best practices and design patterns.
The Senior Software Engineer will work with Product Owners to understand business requirements, working with Tech Lead to clearly understand architectural direction, design innovative solutions and produce comprehensive functional code for applications.
What you'll be doing
The Senior Software Engineer has a pivotal role within a software factory. The Senior Software Engineer must leverage their technical expertise to drive innovation and deliver impactful business outcomes. Additionally, they should possess strong collaboration skills to work with other technologists, lead development of independent components and sub-groups within the factory.
  • Collaborate with and across Agile teams to design, develop, test, implement, and support technical solutions in backend and middleware

  • Design and deliver solutions that leverage RDBMS, Container Orchestration services including Docker, Kubernetes, ECS and a variety of AWS tools and services

  • Utilize programming languages like Java, Springboot and SQL.

  • Collaborate with product owners, and deliver robust cloud-based solutions that drive powerful experiences to help customers

What you bring
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field

  • 6+ years of experience with Java, J2EE, Spring Boot and overall backend experience

  • Intermediate to advanced programming skills Springboot, Spring Cloud and related Spring ecosystem to design, develop and maintain microservices on AWS cloud platform.

  • Experience creating reusable enterprise application frameworks and libraries to scale and improve adoption of standards by product teams.

  • Skilled at delivering high-quality, clean, and reusable code using Test-Driven Development (TDD), object-oriented design, and 12-factor app principles.

  • Strong proficiency in developing scalable and resilient microservices.

  • Experience with asynchronous communication patterns and brokers like Kafka.

  • Skilled at troubleshooting and resolving complex production issues quickly and efficiently.

  • Experience in containerization technologies like Docker, Kubernetes and ECS.

  • Proficiency in setting up Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines, incorporating automated testing, code quality checks, and deployment strategies.

  • Experience building observable systems to track the performance of distributed services, trace issues, and troubleshoot failures.

  • Experience developing software using System Design principles

  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to work with product managers, architects and other engineers to define technical requirements.

Added bonus if you have
  • Proficiency and hands-on experience provisioning and managing cloud infrastructure using Terraform and/or OpenTofu.

  • Proficiency in customization of CI/CD workflows and managing multiple environments.
