Position Overview

Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP is hiring two Senior Software Developers for the White Plains office (hybrid). This role is a senior‑level engineering position within multidisciplinary project teams responsible for designing, developing, and supporting integrated applications across the firm’s business functions.

Core Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and maintain complex application components including APIs, business logic, database structures, system integrations, and modern web‑based user interfaces.
  • Participate in the architecture and design of modern enterprise applications using .NET, React, Python, C#, TypeScript, and AI‑enabled services.
  • Lead implementation of complex development tasks and support architectural initiatives within multiple workstreams.
  • Contribute to AI‑powered application capabilities, including integration with large language models (LLMs), semantic search, and Retrieval‑Augmented Generation (RAG) patterns where appropriate.
  • Write production‑quality code and enforce adherence to established engineering standards, development patterns, and best practices.
  • Engage in technical design discussions, code reviews, and provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior developers.
  • Collaborate with data architects, database administrators, product owners, and business stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
  • Support debugging, performance optimization, and modernization of existing firm applications.
  • Participate in the development of CI/CD pipelines, deployment strategies, and application lifecycle management.
  • Maintain technical documentation such as system designs, technical specifications, architecture diagrams, and operational procedures.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
  • Minimum five years of related technical experience in a professional services environment or enterprise application development.
  • Proficiency with .NET, C#, Python, React, TypeScript, and modern JavaScript frameworks.
  • Experience in developing AI‑enabled services and integrating large language models.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead design and implementation of complex solutions and mentor junior staff.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively across cross‑functional teams.

Salary Details

Base salary range: $160,000 - $180,000. Actual salary will be determined based on skills, experience, and other job‑related factors consistent with applicable law.
