Position Description:

Analyzes, designs, and develops Cloud ready, REST, stand-alone, and production ready Spring applications according to Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA). Develops REST Application Programming Interfaces (APIs) using Spring Boot and Java. Designs and develops databases to integrate data with APIs using Oracle and stored procedures. Builds automation pipelines according to DevOps and Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) methodologies -- Maven, Git, Jenkins, and Artifactory. Provides business solutions by developing complex software applications.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Develops original and creative technical solutions to on-going development efforts.
  • Designs applications or subsystems on major projects and for/in multiple platforms.
  • Develops applications for multiple projects supporting several divisional initiatives.
  • Develops unit and integration tests to validate business requirement implementation.
  • Develops comprehensive documentation for multiple applications supporting several corporate initiatives.
  • Works on complex assignments and often multiple phases of a project.
  • Performs independent and complex technical and functional analysis for multiple projects supporting several initiatives.
  • Supports and performs all phases of testing leading to implementation.
  • Assists in the planning and conducting of user acceptance testing.
  • Responsible for post-installation testing of any problems.
  • Establishes project plans for projects of moderate scope.

Education and Experience:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a closely related field (or foreign education equivalent) and three (3) years of experience as a Senior Software Engineer/Developer (or closely related occupation) developing and maintaining RESTful APIs and User Interfaces (UIs) for large-scale applications in a financial services environment.

Or, alternatively, Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information

Systems, or a closely related field (or foreign education equivalent) and one (1) year of experience as a Senior Software Engineer/Developer (or closely related occupation) developing and maintaining RESTful APIs and User Interfaces (UIs) for large-scale applications in a financial services environment.

Skills and Knowledge:

Candidate must also possess:

  • Demonstrated Expertise ("DE") performing Java/J2EE application development according to Test Driven and Behavioral Driven Development methodologies (TDD and BDD), using JUnit and Mockito frameworks; and deploying Web applications in Amazon Web Services (AWS) environments using Jenkins.
  • DE developing REST APIs and providing technical support for clients to consume REST APIs in an AWS environment, using Java, Spring Boot, and OAuth2; and developing .NET applications using C# and building enterprise components within Visual Studio.
  • DE developing SQL statements and scripts to query RDBMS; and performing application development and debugging, using IntelliJ and Datadog.
  • DE building JUnit tests in a TDD framework using JUnit, Mockito, and SonarQube; and building automation frameworks using Java, Cucumber, Rest Assured.
