Job description

Job Title:

Senior Manager, Site Merchandising

About Bombas:

Bombas is a comfort focused premium basics brand with a mission to help those in need. The company launched in 2013, after the founders learned that socks are the #1 most requested clothing item at homeless shelters. From there, they set out to solve that problem, donating a pair of socks for every pair they sell. How do you donate a lot of socks? You sell a lot. And how do you sell a lot? You make the most comfortable socks in the history of feet. Millions of pairs sold and donated later, Bombas has continued to innovate within its mission and product, introducing new socks, as well as underwear and t-shirts, the #2 and #3 most requested clothing items at homeless shelters, all while continuing to make a positive impact on the community where we all work and live.

The word Bombas is derived from the Latin word for bumblebees. Bees work together to make their hive a better place. At Bombas, we're inspired by that. We know it's the collective efforts of our team that keeps the Hive alive and strong - a team that is diverse and inclusive. Different perspectives strengthen our ability to make the most comfortable versions of the products people wear closest to their bodies every day and to serve the communities where we all work and live. We are committed to continuously building a Hive where all are welcomed, seen, and heard regardless of age, color, ethnicity, gender, gender identity, genetics, physical or mental ability, protected veteran status, race, religion and sexual orientation. As a team, we will strive to create room for different experiences and empower all voices.

Based on the specific needs and job requirements, this role will be working out of our Bombas HQ in New York City.
About the Job:

We are looking for a systems-builder and highly effective operator to join our Site Merchandising team as our Senior Manager, Site Merchandising, reporting directly to our Director, Site Merchandising. The ideal candidate has 6-8+ years of experience in e-commerce and/or site merchandising, with a strong track record of improving site performance through testing, insights, and driving cross-functional alignment by influencing priorities, building shared accountability, and leading teams toward clear customer + business driven decisions and initiatives. This is an opportunity to build and scale the systems that power how our site performs, translating strategy into execution and helping improve both the customer experience and business performance.

What you'll be responsible for:
  • Drive the site merchandising strategy for the Socks category, our largest and most complex business driver
  • Build and scale site merchandising reporting frameworks, dashboards, and operating cadences that improve visibility, decision-making, and execution across the broader team
  • Drive the execution and operational effectiveness of the A/B testing program, including maintaining the testing roadmap, ensuring testing rigor, scaling insights, and coordinating cross-functional execution
  • Translate data into clear, actionable insights that drive business decisions and site optimization
  • Partner closely with Product, UX, and Analytics to influence the site experience roadmap through a strong site merchandising POV (navigation, PDP/PLP, filters, recommendations)
  • Define site merchandising requirements and partner with Product, Engineering, and external vendors to evolve site tooling and capabilities
  • Oversee and improve site merchandising workflows, launch processes, and tooling enhancements that improve scalability, operational efficiency, and execution quality across the broader team
  • Lead high-impact, cross-functional initiatives from ideation through execution
  • Coach and develop junior team members through guidance on prioritization, analytics, category strategy, and operational excellence
What we'll love about you:
  • A systems builder who creates scalable frameworks, not just executes within them
  • A decisive operator who drives alignment and outcomes, not just collaboration
  • Strong analytical judgment paired with the ability to translate insights into action
  • Comfortable operating in ambiguity and defining structure where it doesn't exist
  • A high-ownership mindset with the ability to anticipate and unblock challenges
  • Someone who leads through influence and earns trust across functions without relying on formal authority
  • A team player who is willing and happy to help
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Belief in our mission and an understanding of the importance of giving back
  • Inquisitive, eager to learn, embraces failure, and never gives up
  • Comfortable staying focused while working in any type of environment
What you'll love about us:
  • We are a team of smart, interesting, diverse, funny, and loving people.
  • We offer competitive compensation, employer paid health, medical and dental benefits, 401k with match, paid parental leave, snacks, socks and a fun, relaxed office environment.
  • We take the responsibility to make sure you are excited, happy, and find fulfillment in your work very seriously.
  • We value fun. This is why we host office lunches, offsite team outings and company retreats.
  • We believe in giving back to the community and helping those in need, which is why we volunteer as a team regularly.
  • We believe success comes from the collective effort of all, which is why all full-time employees receive equity in the business.
  • We understand the value of health, relaxation, spending time with friends and family, and traveling the world and offer flexible paid time off for all full-time employees. This includes over 20 paid company holidays, year-round "Flexible Fridays" and unlimited vacation, sick, and wellness days.
  • We understand the importance of communication and offer a monthly phone stipend for all full-time employees.
  • We believe a healthy body equals a healthy mind, so we offer a $100 monthly wellbeing reimbursement to all full-time employees.
What you'll bring:
  • 6-8+ years of experience in e-commerce, site merchandising, digital merchandising, site operations or related fields, with strong commercial and customer experience instincts
  • Proven ability to influence cross-functional teams (Product, Analytics, Engineering, Marketing, Merchandising)
  • Experience working with analytics tools, testing platforms, or site experience tools (e.g., ContentSquare, Contentful, or similar tools)
  • Experience mentoring or developing junior team members
