Senior Sign Fabricator & Installer Design • Fabrication • Installation

$25–$33/hour, DOE

Full-Time

Houston, TX

We're looking for that rare all-arounder who loves to work on all aspects of the sign industry and moves fluidly between the design software, the shop floor, and the job site, and takes pride in getting it right every time.

If you've got the hands-on skill, the eye for quality, and the "can-do" attitude to match, we want to hear from you.

About TASMAN TASMAN Sign & Graphic Solutions strives to be Houston's premier B2B solutions provider in the sign & graphic space, delivering timely solutions that exceed customer expectations. As an independent shop, we have the flexibility to react quickly and focus on what our customers actually need.

We build a wide range of product but we like to focus on architectural signs (Lobby signs, ADA signage and directional sign for the new construction.

We're a small, tight-knit team, and we're looking for someone who loves to design and build signs using all the tools, from printing, laser work, routing, welding and painting to see the results of you work and be proud of it.

What You'll Bring This role is built for someone with real depth of experience — not an entry-level production hire. We're specifically looking for:

  • 10+ years of experience working in, or ideally running, a small sign shop where you handled multiple sides of the business
  • Comfort moving between design, fabrication, and installation — you're not boxed into one lane
  • Hands-on experience operating CNC routers, laser cutters, plotters, and wide-format printers
  • Fabrication skills including aluminum welding, painting, and general shop work
  • Ability to read and work from shop drawings and layouts with precision
  • A sharp eye for quality — you catch the small stuff before it becomes a problem
  • Strong verbal and written communication, and the ability to work independently under deadline pressure
  • Physical ability to lift 50+ lbs, stand for extended periods, work at heights, and work outdoors in Houston weather
  • A valid driver's license and reliable transportation for job-site installs

Nice to Have

  • Experience with CorelDraw design software
  • Experience with Cyrious or similar sign-industry business software
  • Prior management, supervisory, or shop-lead experience — there's real room for upward advancement here

What You'll Do

  • Take a project from layout through fabrication to final installation
  • Prepare substrates and apply vinyl and full-color graphics with precision
  • Operate and maintain CNC routers, lasers, plotters, laminators, and wide-format printers
  • Weld, paint, and fabricate custom signage components
  • Conduct quality assurance checks pre- and post-production
  • Install signage on-site, including some travel as needed
  • Serve as backup to the graphic designer when needed
  • Juggle multiple projects at once without losing attention to detail
  • Help mentor and support other team members on the shop floor

Our Core Values — TASMAN

  • Trusted Partner — to our customers, and to each other
  • Accountable to All — we own our work and our mistakes
  • Service Exceeding Expectations — good enough isn't good enough
  • Memorable Experiences — for every customer, every time
  • Advisor to our Customers — we're the expert in the room
  • New, Creative Solutions — we don't just take orders, we solve problems

Compensation & Benefits

  • $25.00 – $33.00/hour, depending on experience
  • Uniforms provided
  • AFLAC supplemental health options available
  • Monthly bonus for hitting shop goals
  • Paid Time Off
  • Paid Holidays
  • Direct deposit
  • A casual, creative, and professional work environment where real experience is respected

Ready to Join the Team? If this sounds like the shop you've been looking for — one where your experience actually gets used, not just your hands — we'd love to hear from you. Apply today and tell us about the shop(s) you've worked in and what you're proud of building.
