Job description

Assisting the Sr. Carpenter in the maintenance and repair of fixtures or surfaces in a cost-efficient manner that is in compliance with Company safety standards.
  • Promptly performs quality repairs on carpentry-based items as directed by the reporting officer.
  • Always actions assigned defect chits in a timely manner and to the highest standard possible.
  • Effectively and efficiently manufactures or constructs carpentry projects using both rough and finishing carpentry techniques as directed by the reporting officer.
  • Always maintains the Carpenter's Workshop in a clean, tidy and well organized manner.
  • Works closely with the Carpenter to ensure required back-up materials are ordered in a timely fashion.
  • Always executes all work in the most cost-efficient way and assists to achieve all financial goals set by the Company.
Successful candidate will have accured at least 12 months experience working as a carpenter or similar industry role.
  • Carpenter background with preferable ship experience, shipyard or workshop ashore.
  • Carpenter equipment knowledge (circular saw, drill, etc.)
  • Able to varnish and paint
