How you will make an impact

  • Assume overall responsibility for the safety, security, and well-being of the community
  • Conduct safety inspections, testing, and audits in support of Life Safety and OSHA compliance
  • Identify safety/security risks and responds accordingly
  • Conduct investigations, documents and preserves evidence as required
  • Operate company vehicles safely and in accordance with established policies and applicable laws
  • Responds to incidents and emergencies of significance and serves as the incident commander until relieved by a higher authority
  • Serve as the liaison officer to external first responders
  • Responsible for hiring, training, coaching, counseling and termination of employees
  • Responsible for oversight of shift schedules, reviewing and approving timesheets, and completing performance evaluations.
  • Provides daily leadership, supervision, motivation, and communication to direct & indirect reports.

What you will need

  • Must be at least 21 years old
  • Internal candidate - at least 2 years of experience as a SES Asst. Manager or SES Supervisor
  • External candidate - at least 3 years of experience in public safety leadership (Fire/EMS/Law Enforcement), Emergency Management, or comparable leadership experience
  • Current and valid driver's license
  • Minimum of 1 year experience working in an Emergency Responder role
  • Emergency Medical Responder Certification (within 6 months of hire)
  • Professional Security Certification such as CPP, PSP, or CHPA (preferred)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) CPR certification
  • OSHA 10-Hour certification within 6 months of hire
  • State of Maryland Security Guard Certification
