What is a senior sales development representative?

Senior Sales Development Representatives (SDRs) are experienced sales professionals responsible for identifying and qualifying potential customers for a company’s products or services. They focus on generating leads, nurturing relationships, and setting up meetings or demos for account executives to close deals. Senior SDRs often mentor junior team members and help refine outreach strategies to meet sales goals. Their expertise allows them to handle more complex accounts and contribute significantly to the sales pipeline.

How does a senior sales development representative typically collaborate with account executives and other sales team members?

As a Senior Sales Development Representative (SDR), you play a crucial role in the early stages of the sales cycle by identifying and qualifying leads. You'll frequently collaborate with account executives to share insights about prospects, develop tailored outreach strategies, and ensure a smooth handoff when leads are ready for deeper engagement. Regular communication with marketing teams is also common, as you help refine messaging based on feedback from conversations with potential clients. This collaborative environment fosters learning and provides opportunities to contribute to team goals while expanding your sales expertise.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a senior sales development representative, and why are they important?

To excel as a Senior Sales Development Representative, you need a strong understanding of sales processes, lead generation, and account management, typically supported by experience in business development or sales roles. Familiarity with CRM systems like Salesforce, sales engagement platforms, and data analysis tools is essential for tracking and optimizing outreach. Exceptional communication, resilience, and relationship-building skills help you connect with prospects and collaborate with internal teams. These competencies drive pipeline growth, ensure effective lead qualification, and contribute to overall revenue success.

Job description

Sell solutions customers can see, feel, and trust.

Do you know how to walk into a conversation, uncover the real problem, earn a customer’s confidence, and guide them toward the right solution? Sealtite is looking for a driven Regional Sales Professional who loves selling, enjoys solving problems, and wants to represent services that make a meaningful difference for homes and commercial properties.

This is not an order-taking position—and it is not about being the cheapest option. You will help customers solve insulation, energy-efficiency, concrete-settlement, and soil-stabilization problems by recommending dependable, long-lasting solutions. The right person will combine strong sales ability with curiosity, personal responsibility, construction knowledge, and a relentless desire to succeed.

You’ll manage inbound opportunities with exceptional care while also building long-term relationships with builders, contractors, property managers, referral partners, and other potential clients throughout Central Illinois. Your goal will be to create business today while developing relationships that continue generating opportunities for years to come.

The Regional Sales Professional will report directly to the President.

Ready to Build Something Bigger?

If you’re a competitive, relationship-driven sales professional who wants to solve meaningful problems, earn at a high level, and help grow a respected Southwest Florida company, we want to meet you. Apply today and show us what you can build.

Compensation:

$82,000 - $125,000

Responsibilities:
Who We’re Looking For

You may be a great fit for this position if you:

  • Love sales and enjoy the challenge of earning a customer’s trust.
  • Have a track record of qualifying opportunities, overcoming objections, and closing sales.
  • Sell consultatively and confidently communicate value rather than competing only on price.
  • Are skilled at asking questions, listening carefully, and identifying the customer’s real concern.
  • Enjoy solving problems and helping customers make confident decisions.
  • Are comfortable creating new relationships and asking for referrals.
  • Can manage a sales pipeline without allowing opportunities to fall through the cracks.
  • Are organized, responsive, and disciplined with follow-up.
  • Communicate professionally with homeowners, builders, contractors, and business owners.
  • Are humble in your approach but relentless in pursuing your goals.
  • Take responsibility for your results and act like an owner.
  • Are highly coachable, trainable, and willing to follow a proven sales process—even when it may feel different from what you have used before.
  • Can work independently while remaining committed to the success of the entire team.
  • Enjoy learning technical information and translating it into clear customer benefits.
  • Want to grow with a dynamic company rather than settle into an average sales position.

Qualifications:
Preferred Experience
  • Previous sales experience is strongly preferred.
  • Experience selling construction services, home-improvement solutions, building products, or other high-value services is helpful but not required.
  • General knowledge of residential or commercial construction is valuable.
  • Experience selling insulation, spray foam, concrete lifting, soil stabilization, or related construction services is a major advantage.
  • Experience building referral relationships with builders, contractors, property managers, or real estate professionals is beneficial.
  • Strong communication, organization, negotiation, and time-management skills are important.
  • High school diploma or GED preferred.

Candidates with experience in the following roles are encouraged to apply:

  • Outside Sales Representative
  • In-Home Sales Consultant
  • Construction Sales Representative
  • Home Improvement Sales Consultant
  • Territory Sales Representative
  • Account Executive
  • Account Manager
  • Business Development Representative
  • Builder Sales Representative
  • Commercial Sales Representative
  • Sales Associate
  • Senior Sales Consultant

Why Sealtite?

Sealtite Insulation & Slabjacking provides high-quality insulation installations for new homes, commercial buildings, existing properties, and retrofit projects throughout Central Illinois. We also specialize in slabjacking and concrete lifting, providing effective solutions for settled concrete and unstable soil.
