Join Mizuho as a Senior Murex Production Support Engineer - Equity Derivatives!

We are seeking a proactive and detailoriented Senior Murex Technical Production Support professional to support the Equity Derivatives trading desk.

In this role you will act as the first and second line of defense for production stability on the Murex MX.3 platform, providing oversight and handson support across user queries, trade capture issues, pricing discrepancies, risk view gaps, workflow failures, and system incidents.

The role places strong emphasis on decisive triage, effective stakeholder engagement, proactive monitoring, technical diagnostics, incident and case ownership, and close coordination with L3 support teams and the Murex vendor to drive timely resolution and platform stability.

Key Responsibilities:

1. FrontLine User Support

  • Own endtoend incident management, including triage, impact assessment, root cause analysis (RCA), and postincident remediation.
  • Actively monitor system health indicators such as application logs, batch jobs, job schedulers, RTS feeds, and integration dashboards.
  • Design and enhance proactive monitoring and alerting for critical production processes to improve early detection and platform stability.
  • Classify incidents by severity and domain (pricing, risk, market data, interfaces, booking).
  • Perform firstline technical diagnostics, capturing relevant evidence (logs, traces, data snapshots).
  • Investigate complex issues such as pricing inconsistencies, risk and sensitivity gaps, trade enrichment failures, and upstream/downstream interface latency.

2. Incident Monitoring & Triage

  • Own incident triage, root cause analysis (RCA), and post incident follow ups
  • Actively monitor system health dashboards, logs, job schedulers, and RTS feeds
  • Proactively design, implement, and enhance monitoring for critical checks to ensure
  • early detection of issues and production stability.
  • Identify and classify incidents.
  • Capture evidence and perform initial troubleshooting.
  • Investigate pricing/risk gaps, trade enrichment issues, and interface delays.

3. Case & Vendor Management

  • Create, manage, and track Pega vendor cases, ensuring clear problem statements and technical context.
  • Provide detailed reproduction steps, configuration details, logs, and environmental information to accelerate vendor analysis.
  • Coordinate functional and technical reviews of vendor responses and fixes.
  • Validate vendor patches and solutions in lower environments

4. Environment & Change Coordination

  • Support controlled production changes, emergency fixes, and scheduled maintenance windows in line with change governance.
  • Execute pre and postdeployment technical validations, including functional checks on pricing, risk, and trade processing.
  • Coordinate closely with infrastructure, middleware, and release management teams to ensure smooth deployments and production stability.

5. Documentation & Knowledge Management

  • Maintain and enhance SOPs, runbooks, technical procedures, and incident knowledge bases.
  • Document recurring issues, known errors, and resolution patterns to support problem management.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives focused on system resilience, operational efficiency, and reduction of repeat incidents.

Required Skills & Experience:

Technical Skills

  • Murex modules: e-tradepad , Pricing, Simulation, Livebook , Workflow
  • Murex Market data modules: MDCS, RTBS, MDRS, MDIT flow for (volatility, Repo, Dividends)
  • Pricing API exposure (Murex Indicative Pricing API preferred, REST APIs, GraphQL)
  • Murex Log analysis, performance debugging
  • Strong Unix/Linux log-based trouble shooting
  • Hands on experience in scripting (Unix shell, Python preferred)
  • Good understanding of Murex orchestration, services, and process flows
  • Strong experience in diagnosing and resolving user slowness and performance issues through analysis of Murex platform behavior and logs.
  • Good understanding of Murex EOD process families and experience troubleshooting EOD jobrelated issues.
  • SQL Experience (Sybase, SQL server or Oracle)

Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years supporting experience in Front Office Trading Technology; 3+ years Murex MX.3 preferred.
  • Understanding of EQD products and Greeks.
  • Strong communication skills - Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Strong analytical skills to understand a broad set of sophisticated cross-asset products and complex end-to-end workflows.
  • Automation skills using any tool/technology
  • Self-motivated and directed, with the ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.

Nice to have Qualifications:

  • Any Enterprise observability or monitoring tools setup experience ( e,g Telemetry , ITRS, Splunk, Dynatrace, Datadog)
  • Any Enterprise Job Scheduler tool experience (e.g Tidal, Autosys, Ctrl M)
  • Incident, Problem & Change management experience (e.g Service Now)

Work Model:

- NY tradinghours coverage.

- Oncall rotation.

- Hybrid environment.

The expected base salary ranges from $111k-$180k. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, and, where applicable, certifications and licenses obtained. Market and organizational factors are also considered. In addition to salary and a generous employee benefits package, successful candidates are eligible to receive a discretionary bonus.
