LHH Recruitment Solutions is searching for a Senior Account Manager for a direct hire opportunity in Richmond, Newport News, Norfolk, Greenville NC, Charlotte, NC and Raleigh, NC - potentially open to Williamsburg, VA.
About the Role
• Provide prompt, courteous, and knowledgeable service to Select Business Unit clients and prospects.
• Process endorsements, certificates, cancellations, audits, and other transactions according to agency standards
• Utilize the service centers with core partners and account rounding.
• Resolve accounting discrepancies.
• Support new business and renewals by maintaining prospect/client files within the agency management system, assembling proposals, issuing binders, I.D. cards, certificates of insurance and invoicing.
• Check policies to ensure the accuracy of the various transactions.
• Develop and maintain friendly and professional relationships with clients, prospects, underwriters, vendors, and others.
• Maintain client files on the agency management system.
• Be aware of opportunities to add new business to existing clients or cross-sell business to other departments.
• Maintain knowledge of industry forms and coverage changes
• Perform other duties as requested.
• Obeys all applicable federal laws, rules, and regulations relating to Anti-Money Laundering (AML) including the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA)
Skills and experience you'll need:
A successful candidate will have an active P&C license and a minimum of 3 years of experience in the commercial insurance industry, as well as the following:
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Strong organization and prioritization skills.
• Computer skills (Word, Outlook, Excel).
Bonus points if you have:
• Previous working knowledge of Insurance Agency Management software programs, preferably Applied software Epic.
What they are looking for:
• Senior account manager should have a diverse understanding of commercial industry.
• Must have commercial Property, Casualty and Medical Malpractice is ideal. Liquor liability is also helpful.
• Handling more complex accounts in their small/commercial group.
• Desire for education and training others - want Senior Account Managers to mentor standard account managers who have 4-8 experience in the accounts, have touched complicated accounts but will touch things they may not understand - need someone who can support the Account Managers that way. This is an intangible skillset that typically doesn't appear on the resume.
Team Structure: Each Risk Advisor is paired w 1-2 (Senior and Junior) Account Managers, and support staff that can handle simple things. The Risk Advisor writes the business and assigns to Senior Account Managers and Account Managers. They also leverage 11 carrier service centers. The Senior Account Managers are expected to manage their books without a lot of support - change requests, renewals, etc. But support structure steps in volumes exceed capacity.
