About This Role

Textron Systems is seeking an Innovation & Growth Analyst to drive data-informed growth decisions through rigorous market analysis, competitive intelligence, and opportunity evaluation.

This is a mid-level, analytics-focused role with ownership of insight generation. The Analyst will independently frame questions, structure analyses, and deliver actionable recommendations that directly influence strategy, investment priorities, and business development focus areas.

This role operates at the intersection of strategy, market intelligence, and data analytics, partnering closely with Business Development, Engineering, Finance, and leadership to assess where the business should compete and how it can win.

Responsibilities

Market & Competitive Intelligence

  • Own development of recurring market intelligence products (market landscapes, competitor assessments, and trend reports)
  • Analyze industry dynamics, customer demand signals, and funding priorities to identify growth vectors
  • Synthesize win/loss data, competitor positioning, and capability gaps into actionable insights
  • Provide forward-looking perspectives on how markets and competitors are evolving

Opportunity Identification & Prioritization

  • Identify, screen, and prioritize growth opportunities using structured frameworks
  • Lead analytical efforts to validate early-stage opportunities, including market sizing, demand analysis, and risk assessment
  • Partner with Business Development to refine pipeline strategy and focus resources on the highest-value pursuits
  • Support development of business cases for new investments, partnerships, or capability expansion

Analytics & Insight Generation

  • Integrate internal and external data sources to identify patterns, trends, and strategic insights
  • Build models, dashboards, and visualizations that enable ongoing decision support
  • Apply advanced Excel and, where applicable, BI or data tools to improve analytical rigor and scalability
  • Leverage AI-enabled tools to accelerate research, synthesis, and insight generation

Strategic Decision Support

  • Develop executive-level briefings that clearly translate analysis into recommendations and trade-offs
  • Support strategic planning cycles, including long-range planning and growth initiatives
  • Support cross-functional stakeholders in shaping growth strategies
  • Enable leadership with fact-based perspectives on where to invest, partner, or compete
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Economics, Data Analytics, or a related field
  • 3-5 years of experience in cross-functional project roles, business analytics, or information systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to independently structure complex problems, conduct analysis, and deliver clear, actionable insights.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Proven ability to communicate insights to senior stakeholders and influence decisions
  • Experience working in cross-functional, matrixed environments

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in aerospace, defense, or other regulated/government markets
  • Familiarity with U.S. defense budgeting, acquisition processes, and customer landscape
  • Experience with BI/analytics tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) or programming (Python, SQL)
  • Exposure to AI-enabled analytics or automation tools
  • Experience supporting strategy development, portfolio management, or growth initiatives
  • Understanding of competitive intelligence methodologies and frameworks
